Child Protection Trainer

SCOPE OF WORK: The CP trainer will support the inter-agency case management coaching program by providing training on child protection, detection of child abuse cases, and other CP topics to refugee outreach volunteers (ROVs) throughout Lebanon.  The CM trainer will ensure trainings are delivered according to IRC standards and training plans, prepare regular reports, and support the CP Officer in other capacity building efforts for the ROVs. Position objectives: Ensure that ROVs are trained in Child Protection, identification of vulnerable children and safe referrals, communicating with children, and other related topics Support CP Officer in delivering ongoing coaching to ROVs Provide other assistance to the coaching case management team as required Who this position reports to:  CP Officer RESPONSIBILITIES: CM Coaching Program In coordination with the CP officer, coordinate with UNHCR and partner agencies in different areas (Bekka, Tripoli, Mt Lebanon/Beirut, the South and Akkar) to mobilize ROVs and organize trainings and other events Conduct training sessions up to 4 days per week across Lebanon, including overnight stays in the field Collect all relevant data on participants and update participant databases on a routine basis Complete reports on each training and support group and complete other documentation in a timely manner Ensure participants complete the pre and post tests for each training, correct them and evaluate the impact of the trainings Support CP Officer in delivering coaching sessions and other events for the ROVs Liaise and collaborate with other CP actors and agencies Serve as a role model for ROVs, embodying child protection principles including do no harm, respect and non-discrimination Maintain positive coordination and relationships with partner and other IRC sector staff Other Ensure activities are done in accordance with IRC logistics policy and in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of programs; Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs Professional Standards All IRC staff are required to adhere to THE IRC Way Standards for Professional Conduct, child safeguarding policy and the IRC country employment policies. REQUIREMENTS: University degree in a social field preferable Experience in working with children mandatory Understanding of child-friendly communication skills Experience in delivering training  mandatory Social work experience preferable Experience in working in emergencies preferable Knowledge and understanding of CP Minimum Standards, UNCRC and CPiE Strong diplomacy and communication skills Written and Oral Fluency in Arabic mandatory and English preferable Proficient in Word and excel mandatory Strong commitment to humanitarian and child protection values mandatory Willingness to work long hours and travel up to 70%, including overnight stays
