Community Engagement Assistant - NATIONAL CANDIDATES ONLY

 Major Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, train, manage and coach six community engagement focal points (CEF) in the affected Beirut Blast areas. 
  • Coordinate the activities of the CEFs through regular follow up and regular weekly meetings.
  • Provide the volunteers with on-going capacity buildings and organize trainings for them in coordination with Deputy Protection Manager.
  • Coordinate closely with the Referral Officer, Protection Monitoring Officer, Senior Legal Officer, and Snr Cash for Protection Officer to make sure the volunteers are provided with updated information about available services for affected families. 
  • Act as a focal point for receiving and following up protection referrals/ incident reports identified by the CEF volunteers.
  • Handle all admin and finance matters related to CEFs;
  • Monitor and evaluate the work of the CEF; and,
  • Perform other duties, as needed or requested by the supervisor.
  • Ensure efficient communication and coordination with IRC different sectors field teams in the Beirut Blast Response. 
  • Participate in weekly meetings, prepare and submit Beirut weekly and monthly work plans in a timely manner Deputy Protection Manager. 
Key Working Relationships: 
Position Reports to:  Deputy Protection Manger- Emergency Response 
Indirect reporting: Protection Monitoring officer and Snr Protection Manager in Beirut
Other Internal and/or external contacts: IRC WPE and CP focal points to ensure field coordination, Cash assistants in ML, Beirut referral officer and assistant, Beirut protection monitors.
Externally with: BML sectors: ECA partners, case management, shelter and other relevant sectors in Beirut and Mount Lebanon.
