Consultant - Training of Trainers (NATIONAL CANDIDATES ONLY)

Background/IRC Summary: Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee (www.theIRC.org) is a world leader in relief, rehabilitation, and post-conflict development services for those uprooted or affected by violent conflict

and oppression. The IRC is currently working around the world, addressing immediate and lifesaving needs of conflict affected people and the reconstruction needs of post-conflict societies. The IRC has been working in Lebanon since 2012 to provide support to refugees and vulnerable host community members.

In January 2014, in response to the influx of Syrian refugees in Lebanon the IRC began a project providing psychosocial support, case management and apprenticeship opportunities to Street and Working children/youths and their caregivers in Mount Lebanon/Beirut. In August 2017, the SaWC program expanded to Tripoli and Bekaa. Direct services have been coupled with advocacy work with both national and international counterparts. In 2020, in response to Beirut explosion, IRC has partnered with many agencies to offer a holistic CP program for children and caregivers.

In another hand the IRC continued to provide technical and organizational support for CP national actors such as Union for the Protection of Juveniles (UPEL) including staff psychological support and staff care sessions. In 2019 the IRC Interagency Child Protection Coaching Program expanded to reach more national child protection actors, UPEL and Ministry of social affairs and the intended activities will cover emergency psychological support for children at risk and will continue to provide staff care sessions and staff psychological support.
