Background:
In Lebanon, the IRC initiated an Economic Recovery and Development (ERD) program in November 2012. With support from DFID, the IRC provides unconditional cash assistance, Cash for Work, vocational training, and job-matching services to vulnerable Syrians and Lebanese, as well as microenterprise loans and apprenticeships.
The IRC is managing a Livelihoods Centre (LC) in Deir Dalloum - Akkar to serve as venue for the IRC’s ERD activities (e.g., ATM card trainings and distributions, candidate assessments, financial management and vocational trainings, etc). It also serves as space to provide advice to both job-seekers and employers. It opened in 2014 and a new center started in Mount Lebanon in 2015.
Justification:
The Livelihoods Center in Deir Dalloum is receiving jobseekers on a daily basis (more than 300 persons/week) and they are filling applications for their registration at the center.
The data entry assistant will work at the Livelihoods Center on a service contract base (5 days /week) and will be responsible for the data entry of administrative documents produced by staff at the center, in order to ease the transition to a new IT system.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for entering around 400 counselling and 400 follow-up records collected by the job counselling senior officer
Ensures regular entry and filing of data into the LIMS (Lebanon information management system) for the Livelihoods centre
Reports regularly to the Job Counselling Senior Officer with technical oversight from the M&E team
Ensures that the data of the hard copies are filled and the ambiguous data forms returned to the Job counselling officer for accuracy
The role’s duration will be to complete entry of the data backlog
Requirements:
Good command of computer, including Excel, Word and Database software such as Access, or others
Honesty, forthrightness, and accuracy are absolutely necessary. Understanding the nature of the data entered and its usage are necessary, as it will allow identifying possible incoherence in the data collected.
The Data Entry assistant must be thorough and meticulous, in order to avoid mistakes in data entry.
Good organizational and communication skills with international and national staff.
Period and location of training delivery
The incumbent should finish entering all 400 counselling and 400 follow-up records during the date of hire in November till the end of December 2015.
The payment will be on hourly basis. The incumbent will be paid 7.5 $/hour over 5 working days. The total number of hours to fulfil the entry should not exceed the 40 hours.
For insuring consistent entry, the successful candidate will be managed by the senior Monitoring and Evaluation officer in the Deir Dalloum Livelihoods centre in Akkar.
