Data Surveyor/ External Evaluation (2) - Qobayat

Background/IRC Summary: The International Rescue Committee is an international organization specializing in emergency and humanitarian programming. In response to the influx of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, the IRC is starting an Education program, with program strategies to be implemented in various locations but starting with a pilot in North Lebanon Governorate and Bekaa Governorate.   Job Overview/Summary: The External Evaluator/Data Surveyor will perform a questionnaire for approximately 400 children and families over the month duration of the contract. This questionnaire, called the SDQ (Strength and difficulties Questionnaire) will inform the IRC about the emotional and psychological background of some students. The External Evaluator/Data Surveyor will also be involved in delivering focus group discussions in these same communities. Major Responsibilities: Being trained and supported on delivering the SDQ by the IRC staff in Akkar Scheduling and giving the Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) to approximately 400 students and parents located in both ITS camps and village settlements across Akkar; this questionnaire takes approximately 13-20 per participant and needs to be clearly explained for valid results Working with the IRC Education team to deliver these results in a valid, transparent manner Inputting data into table-based digital questionnaires for analysis and cleaning by Education staff Conducting focus group discussions with students and parents specifically regarding safety and emotional wellbeing Key Working Relationships: Position Reports to: M&E Manager, Beirut Position directly supervises: None Indirect Reporting: Education Manager, Akkar   Work experience: Experience in delivering questionnaires and surveys to communities preferred Demonstrated Skilled and Competencies: Comfort in working in ITS locations and in close proximity with refugee families. Language skills: Arabic. Some English beneficial. Certificates or Licenses:   Working environment: The consultancy will be completed in and near ITS camps across Akkar. There will be a small component of the job delivered in the Education office (data inputting/clarifications).
