Major Responsibilities:
- Provide effective teaching and facilitation to Syrian refugee children, at ECE locations 3.5 hours per day , 3 or 6 days per week, following the IRC ECE curriculum and calendar;
- Implement and follow the IRC standard curriculum and enrich content where appropriate, including the production and dissemination of teaching hand outs and activities sheets;
- Implement child-centered teaching strategies and methodologies to support early grade exploratory learning;
- Assess children's learning achievement with periodic assessments during the year;
- Work as part of a team with the ECE Facilitator in delivering and maintaining a high quality learning environment for ECE students;
- Maintain a safe and effective teaching/learning environment in the classroom and its surroundings;
- Enhance parental partnership though proper communication channels with Parent Focal Points/ refugees community leaders;
Job Requirements:
- University degree in Social Sciences or Education
- Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience (either at Primary or ECE/KG level)
- Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
- Clear understanding of ECE programs, including the role of educators in ECE and play based/exploratory learning for ECE-aged children (3-5 years).
- Ability to understand and discuss with supervisors and parents about children's learning problems and psychosocial needs.
- Strong ability to organize work and plan lessons on daily basis.
- Experience delivering curriculums in a play-based, exploratory environment
- Motivation to receive and follow professional development/training opportunities.
- Ability to work as part of a team to deliver high quality and professional results.
- Language Skills: Arabic; fluency in French or English (preferred)
- Certificates or Licenses: Teacher Certificate/Teaching Certification (preferred)
Working Environment:
Classes will be held in or near ITS camps, either in Education tents or in refurbished buildings easily accessible to the communities. Classes will have 20-25 students per educator and facilitator.
