Background/Josour al Nour Summary:
Josour al Nour (JN) is a Lebanese local NGO operating in Arsal since 2010, over the past ten years JN implemented variety of programs supporting both local and refugees communities in Arsal.
JN in partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is implementing a livelihood project in Arsal, providing vocational trainings to street connected and working children (SAWC) aged between 14 and 17 years old. The aim of this project is to mitigate risks on SAWC and support them restoring a better future.
Position Summary:
The Field Assistant will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient implementation of activities implemented during the Project period. This position requires a highly responsible and a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results and meet deadlines in alignment with the project’s targets.
The Field assistant is responsible to organize the activities the center, co-facilitate vocational training sessions, and provide technical support for the trainers on child protection standards and techniques.
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure that the logistical material and transportation are available for the appropriate running of activities in each session. Mobilize groups of adolescents referred by IRC to participate in the vocational trainings.
- Support the trainers in filling out attendance lists and evaluation forms.
- Ensure the safety of the center and equipment before the start of each training session.
- Submit reports to the project officer on the progress versus the project work plan.
- Implement project activities within his/her area of responsibility in accordance to the work plan set by the project management.
- Ensure that implementation of the action plan is consistent with the deliverables and objectives of the project document.
- Ensure a coordinated and collaborative approach among project partners at the field level / in implementing project interventions and achieving desired results.
- Assist the Project officer in organizing various workshops, training, and planning sessions.
- Supervise the activities delivered by the trainers and ensure the compliance with the action plan and project outputs as requested by the project officer.
- Prepare work plan, progress report, and other plans as required, with assistance / input of other project staff and ensuring their timely submission to the project manager.
- Ensure smooth coordination between trainers, beneficiaries and training centers.
- Work under the supervision of the Project officer and in close cooperation with the Program Director.
- Provide additional support to the project management unit as required.
- Participate in the data collection process in coordination with the M&E Assistant.
- Support the trainers in facilitating and managing the challenging groups.
- Act as a focal points for referrals from/to Josour al nour.
- Daily collection of data on the activities organized and ensure that all the relevant forms are fully filled and shared with the project officer and the M&E assistant.
- Raise any concern or challenge to the Project officer.
- Ensure that the activities location is safe and children are well protected during activities.
- Ensure that the trainers are adopting child friendly approach when dealing with the children.
- Support in collecting attendance and collecting Pre/post tests for the children.

Job Requirements:
Education:
- Technical diploma or university degree in social science or relevant field.
Work Experience:
- Two years of work experience in the humanitarian field.
- Experience in working with children and organizing activities
- Previous Experience in working with NGOs.
- Previous experience in working with children and adolescents is mandatory.
Languages:
- Fluency in Arabic written and spoken.
- Basic English literacy.
Personal skill and qualifications:
- Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure, enjoying working in the field
- Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children
- Good communication skills
Computer Skills:
- Basic computer literacy.
