Under the direct supervision of the Grants Coordinator, the Grants Officer will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Grants team. Duties will include maintaining grant files and tracking documents, scheduling and organizing regular grant meetings, supporting the Grants and Finance teams in processing sub-grant proposals and agreements, editing reports and proposals as needed, and other special projects.
Major Responsibilities:
Maintain an up-to-date grants calendar, including donor and sub-grant reporting deadlines, budget vs. actual meetings, grant opening, review, and closing meetings
Contact focal points from different IRC departments to schedule meetings
Support the Grants team by taking and distributing detailed notes at grants-related meetings
Assemble and update briefing packets for donors and other visitors
As needed, supporting the Grants and Finance teams in processing sub-grant proposals and agreements
As needed, edit donor reports and proposals
Maintain all paper and electronic grant files
Support in information and data gathering projects as requested by the Grant Coordinator
Perform other duties, as requested by the Grants Coordinator

Position Reports to: Grants Coordinator Position directly supervises: NA
Indirect Reporting: NA Other Internal and/or external contacts: describe the nature of departments or groups the position influences or requires support from to accomplish objectives.
Internal: The Grants Officer will work to coordinate grants meetings and review/submission of documents to IRC HQ or donors with Program units, Supply Chain, Finance and HR, as well as the senior management team.
External: The Grants Officer may be asked to support the Grants Coordinator and Sr. Grants Officer with donors or local NGO partners as needed.
Job Requirements:
Education: BA or Masters in relevant discipline
Work Experience: At least one year prior professional experience in a similar post (preferably NGO or UN agency)
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
Highly-organized
Highly motivated, fast learner with good interpersonal and time management skills
High-level skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Skilled writer and editor
Ability to work within a multi-cultural team
Familiarity with program design, including technical narratives, log frames, budgeting and reporting
Language Skills: Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic
Working Environment: Standard office work environment with trips to the field to visit program activities.
