Illustration/animator Consultant

Purpose of the Consultancy The consultant will be engaged to help design a graphic novel/comic book that will be used as a risk mitigation tool. The IRC is developing story lines based on the experiences of women and girls. Using adult and adolescent friendly illustrations, the consultant will be tasked to draw storyboards that tell the outlined stories, using minimal written words.   Proposed Outputs and Key Tasks Liaise with IRC staff to understand the project and the stories Develop two draft storyboards (one for adults, one for adolescents) based on the outline Based on the review and feedback, finalized two storyboards of 3-4 stories each Produce high quality drawings based on the storyboards that will be produced as graphic novels/comic books in Arabic, French, and English Conditions of the Consultancy The consultant will work in coordination with the WPE Coordinator based in Beirut. All materials designed and produced under this consultancy will be property of the IRC. Timeframe Terms and timing for the consultancy to be determined in consultation with the consultant. Location Beirut or remote based Qualifications Education: no formal academic requirements, although fine art, illustration and graphic design qualifications would be well considered Work Experience: Experience with illustration and design Demonstrated Skills and Competencies: Excellent drawing and IT skills Understanding of how to make a point through illustration with minimal written words To be able to work to a brief, solve problems creatively and adapt their style Creativity and imagination To enjoy creative work. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, prioritize work under pressure Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well Language Skills:  Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English preferred
