Major Responsibilities:
- Act as focal point for receiving internal and external referrals of individuals and families from Protection monitoring teams and community focal points.
- Engage in mediation and negotiation related to HLP and provide awareness sessions and legal assistance as directed by the Snr Legal Officer.
- Provide recommendation to: (Snr Legal officer/Deputy Protection Manager and Snr Protection Manager) on protection trends related to legal mediations, recent circulars and decisions, laws and practices when need it.
- Provide inputs and recommendation for advocacy initiatives, as required; and,
- Assure data is registered at legal database and monthly deliverables reports are submitted on time
- Conducts other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:- At least 5 years of prior professional experience in a similar post, preferably with an international organization.
- Possesses foundational knowledge of the national legal system and legal information sources,
- Strong understanding of International Human Rights, Refugee Law and Lebanese law with special focus on Housing, Land and Property rights.
- Familiarity with the Lebanese legal community and refugee community in Lebanon,
- Strong communication skills including ability to interact successfully with different sectors/stakeholder/service providers from different backgrounds,
- Excellent communication skills, cultural sensitivity, flexibility, ability to improvise, team player,
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook,
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time
- Ability to work both independently and in a dynamic, cross-functional global team structure
