Consultancy Overview:
A key element of IRC’s programming is to partner with local organizations and build their capacities in the gender-based violence intervention, for mitigation and response.
Considering the intersection between disability and gender-based violence, WPE partnered with the “Lebanese Union for people with disabilities” (LUPD) since April 2021 to capacitate the team in the GBV intervention to reduce the violence faced by female with disabilities through mainstreaming disability and inclusion in GBV programs.
LUPD and WPE held a joint workshop and several consultation meetings to gather their experiences and share capacities to adapt their approaches and tools to be more inclusive of PwD and shared their findings with the WPE management during a workshop held in August 2022.
Purpose of the Consultancy:
- The purpose of this consultancy is to go through all the process and documents to write a comprehensive report on this partnership and capacity sharing between LUPD and WPE and evaluate the adaptation.
- The report writing consultant will work closely with WPE team and LUPD team to gather all the information and to write a final report highlighting the successful capacity sharing.
- The consultant will also work closely with the WPE team to ensure proper implementation of the action plan to include it in the reporting.
Responsibilities:
- The report writing consultant will write the end-report covering the partnership period between LUPD and IRC focusing on the capacity sharing and the adaptation.
- The consultant will meet with relevant focal points to gather information.
- The consultant will collect the documents, monthly reports, and tools adaptation report to use in the end report writing.
- The consultant will hold regular meetings with the WPE focal point to update on the process and she will draft regular brief on the ongoing job.
- The consultant will follow up on the achievements and challenges related to the action plan of disability inclusion to include related updates in the final report.
- The consultant will draft and submit final report prior to the consultancy end date (date TBC) to have time to review, discuss and finalize with the relevant FP.
Deliverables:
- End-report to be submitted during the last month of the consultancy.
- Initial meetings to be conducted with relevant focal points from partner and IRC.
- Regular follow up via meetings or visits to collect information and have updates.
Payment Rate and Schedule:
A Lumpsum will be paid upon submission of the final report, at the end of the consultancy contract.
Requirements:
- Experience working in WPE/GBV programs.
- Experience in the Middle East and/or a refugee-setting, preferred.
- Fluent in Arabic, knowledge of English highly desirable.
- Experience in writing reports.
