Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Senior Safety & Security Officer, the Safety and Security Assistant supports the Safety & Security team in providing an effective field support in the South and Nabatieh Governorates as well as in the southern suburbs of Beirut and other areas based on requirements.
Major Responsibilities:
Support safety & security activities in the Tyre Field Office as requested by the SSSO and the local team
Review and update the Field Security Management Plan as assigned by the SSSO
Assist in the preparation, maintenance and distribution of security guidelines to all staff in relation to security measures, standards and policy
Carry out security briefings for staff and visitors
Follow-up on security-related purchases
Ensure local security incidents are reported and documented in a timely manner
Assist the Safety & Security Department in the management of field support to programs in the Southern Suburbs of Beirut
Follow up on all administrative issues related to the safety and security department
Under the guidance of SSSO, liaise with local partners and actors in the designated areas
Perform other assignments as shall be assigned by the SSSO

Position Reports to: Senior Safety & Security Senior Officer (SSSO)
Position directly supervises:
Indirect Reporting: Other Internal and/or external contacts: describe the nature of departments or groups the position influences or requires support from to accomplish objectives.
Internal: Program & Operation Teams in South, Security Focal Persons (SSFPs)
External: Local NGO forums, authorities, local actors
Job Requirements:
University or technical degree in a relevant field
Minimum of 2 years experience in safety & security management
Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
Work experience in insecure /hostile environments
Sound knowledge of Humanitarian principles
Knowledge of INGOs working environment is an asset
Knowledge of main local actors and experience in engaging with them
Strong sense of personal integrity
Previous experience with INGOs an advantage
Show flexibility outside working hours
Languages:
Must be fluent in Arabic and English. French is a strong plus.
Working environment
The position will be based in Tyre, Lebanon - with regular field trips to Beirut and other Field Offices
