SCOPE OF WORK:
The Safety and Security Assistant assists the Senior Safety and Security officer in providing an effective and progressive Security Support to the organization.
The safety and Security Assistant he/she will be supporting directly Tyr office and enforce security regulations and advice to Tyr staff.
Major Responsibility:
Assist the SSSO in networking and collaborating with other international organizations and agencies as well as governmental institutions working in the security management field, to ensure that appropriate lines of communication are established and well maintained relating to all aspects of staff security and safety procedures at the IRC.
Support the SSSO in the conduct of required security assessments/evaluations, threat analysis, and risk assessments and offer appropriate recommendations.
Support the SSSO to develop and implement evacuation/emergency security plans.
Maintain address and telephone lists for IRC staff based in the area of responsibility. .
Support SSSO in providing basic security training on security awareness, preparedness and responses for all staff as part of the induction process to the office
Assist in the preparation, maintenance and distribution of security guidelines to all staff in relation to security measures, standards and policy
Provide security orientation for staff.
Conduct security briefing to expatriates.
Maintains a database of all security incidents and completes reports as required.
Performs other security related duties as designated by the SSSO
Report any violations to appropriate IRC authority, and participate in preventative initiatives
Follow up on all administrative issues related to the safety and security department.
Type correspondence, reports and other documents, requested by the SSSO in English and Arabic
Prepare all necessary documentation and make all arrangements for movements and missions.
Maintain and update the Security department electronic and hard filing system
Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive information at all times.
Show flexibility outside working hours
Any other tasks or responsibilities assigned by the SSSO
Job Requirements:
Field of education: Tertiary education (Bachelor minimum) in communication, politics, risk or other related field
University Degree, preferably in management Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in Administration/Office Management
Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
Strong sense of personal integrity.
Previous experience with Administration and/or previous INGO experience are an advantage.
Personal qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and oral
Languages:
Arabic: Fluent English: Fluent French: it’s a plus
Other:
The position will be based in Beirut, Lebanon - with regular travel within the country to Tyr and other field offices
