Senior Reporting Officer (Beirut) - FOR NATIONAL CANDIDATES ONLY.

Background/IRC Summary: Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee (www.theIRC.org) is a world leader in relief, rehabilitation and post-conflict development services for those uprooted or affected by violent conflict and oppression. The IRC is currently working in over 25 countries around the world, addressing both the immediate and lifesaving needs of conflict affected people in emergencies and the reconstruction needs of post-conflict societies.  The IRC is implementing protection programming in Beirut/Mount Lebanon, South Lebanon, North Lebanon (T5 and Akkar), and North Bekaa during 2019. The programming includes protection monitoring and information dissemination, legal service provision, community mobilization, community empowerment and case management for high-risk protection cases in specific areas. The protection program seeks to promote a protective environment for adults and children.

 

Job Overview/Summary: Reporting directly to the Protection Data Information Manager, the Snr Reporting Officer is in charge of reporting for the protection program by liaising with all managerial staff and supporting drafting of protection and donors’ reports. The position is key to ensure timely production of reports for the protection department, and quality of reports requirements related to all aspects of program implementation. The Senior Reporting Officer will closely collaborate with the M&E Snr Officer, ICT4P Snr Officer as well as all Managers in the field on a daily basis.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with protection managerial staff at all field offices to ensure drafting of weekly and monthly protection reports for the South, North and Beirut/Mount Lebanon;
  • Produce draft of protection quarterly trends at the national level;
  • Support the reporting Officer in North Beqaa in producing reports according to the needs;
  • Provide Field managers and PRoL Coordinator with protection trends presentations on a monthly basis;
  • Support program in developing drafts of donors’ reports in a timely and quality manner;
  • Develop any protection report/analysis on an ad hoc basis as per manager request;
  • Perform other duties, as needed or requested by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

 

Education:

  • At least Bachelor degree in social sciences, law and/or any relevant field of expertise related to protection

 

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • At least two years of prior professional experience in a similar post, preferably with an international organization;
  • Strong demonstrated redaction skills;
  • Strong demonstrated skills in Excel and development of graphics;
  • Strong demonstrated understanding of protection programming in Lebanon;
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to following up tasks until completed;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines;
  • Solid English and Arabic language skills;
  • Computer literate, familiar with Microsoft office, experience in document design and layout;
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently; and,
  • Flexible and able to work in a dynamic and diverse environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of donors’ reporting rules is an asset.

 

Language Skills: 

  • Advanced English and Arabic language skills is a must.

 

Working Environment: Standard office work environment and IRC assets will include; internet connection, electricity, personal laptop and work phone.
