Wpe Risk Mitigation Associate

BACKGROUND: The International Rescue Committee is an international organization specializing in emergency and humanitarian programming.  In response to the influx of Syrian refugees, the IRC is starting programming in Lebanon.   SCOPE OF WORK: The WPE Risk Mitigation Associate will facilitate information sessions on available services, and support mechanisms at the IRC Women and Girl Community Centers, and during mobile and outreach activities. The WPE Risk Mitigation Associate will also be responsible for training and supervising a team of refugee-based Outreach Workers to ensure increased information to vulnerable women and girls about services and risk mitigation activities.   Position objectives: Community members and other stakeholders take action to mitigate identified risks. Community members are informed of available services and support mechanisms. Outreach Workers are trained and supervised to ensure outreach services follow guiding principles.   Who this position reports to: WPE Protection Officer   RESPONSIBILITIES:   Grant Implementation Assist the WPE Protection Officer to conduct weekly camp safety audits to identify risks. Support outreach teams to conduct daily/weekly meetings (home visits, tea sessions).  Disseminate information materials, in collaboration with the WPE Protection Officer, ensuring messages are appropriate for the community and tested before dissemination. Mobilize community members to create a protective and safe environment.   Grant Monitoring & Reporting Consolidate findings from weekly outreach visits and activities. Prepare and submit weekly reports to the WPE Protection Officer.   Coordination & Representation Support adherence to referral protocols. Maintain positive coordination and relationships with partner and other IRC staff.   Other Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.   Professional Standards All IRC staff are required to adhere to THE IRC Way Standards for Professional Conduct and the IRC country employment policies.   WORK ENVIRONMENT: Staff will work from an IRC-ABAAD Center located in Wadi Khaled. Occasional travel between field sites and Beirut may occur.
