Case Worker

  Job description   All INTERSOS employees and consultant are expected to perform their roles and responsibilities according to INTERSOS chart of values and code of ethics. The job description is mandatory for all position within INTERSOS and shall be signed by employee within the first week of employment.     Job Title        : Case Worker (CW) Reports to       : Senior Case Worker (SCW) and Field Activity Officer (FAO) Duty Station    : Jbeil (Nahr Ibrahim or Jeita) Position Type   :   Job Purpose: Act according to the guiding principles of GBV and Child Protection case management including: survivor centered approach, respect of confidentiality, prioritize according to safety concerns, ‘do not harm’,  ensure a non-discriminatory approach, act according to the best interest of the child, ensure accountability, respect professional boundaries and avoid conflict of interest; Ensure that protection principles are understood, maintained and enforced; Provide direct support and care for vulnerable case with protection concerns (including survivors of gender-based violence), including psychosocial support and case management.   Generic Duties: Detect, counsel and follow up individual cases identified during psychosocial activities by the team or referred by other agencies; or through community services and protection monitors where applicable. Conduct psychosocial assessment of vulnerable cases, including environmental, emotional, behavioral, and social factors as well as resources and strengths that impact the individual well- being; Ensure coordination and synergy with the main service providers in the area of intervention for prompt referral, follow up and information sharing; Manage, fill, archive specific forms for cases profiling, referral and weekly reporting ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness; Monitor and follow up the outcome of the assistance provided; Be available to provide basic emotional support for urgent cases; Manage the hotline according to the internal procedures and under the Senior Case worker supervision; Ensure the provision of emergency cash assistance for the most vulnerable clients, according to the needs of the clients, the agreed criteria and the internal procedures and under the supervision of the Senior case worker; Ensure that data protection protocol is respected; Be available to participate in meetings and trainings in and outside the centres including case management meetings and case conferences meetings or any other meetings when required by the Senior case worker; Accomplish any other task not here listed if necessary to the projects achievement.     Specific Duties: (Can be adapted to the particularities of the job location and the requirement of the project. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired).   Plan with the Senior CW and Field Activity Officer to conduct home visits to assess the living conditions of the cases when appropriate, when needed, and if the child or the survivor give her/his consent; Ensure the preparation of accurate case plans for high-risk cases identified with clearly outcomes and time-frame. Mapping of services in area of intervention and reporting information to Senior Case Workers Advocate with different institutions and services providers to help the clients to access needed resources and services Implementation of case management in the intervention location in accordance with all CM steps and related tools and procedures as defined through INTERSOS Protection Strategy. addressing high risk cases and sharing with Senior case worker for possible intervention In coordination and cooperation with the Senior case worker and Caritas staff, will be responsible for the coaching on the job implementation; coaching of Caritas staff on case management       Monitoring and Reporting Provide daily and weekly updates to the Senior Case Worker about new cases assessed; Support the Senior C.W on the elaboration of the weekly report to the PM, PS and RO. Contribute to the update of the Intersos case management system.     Education: University Degree in a related field e.g. Social Work, Psychology or equivalent   Competencies:  (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)   Professional Competencies: -      Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience. -      Computer literacy (Word, Excel) -      Reporting skills -      Driving License (mandatory)   Behavioural competencies: -                     High confidentiality, respect and non-discrimination attitude. -                     Ability to work under pressure -                     Good interpersonal and  communication skills -                     Willing to work extra hours and during the weekend if emergency cases arise -                     Availability to frequent field visits across area     Languages: -                     Fluency in Arabic -                     Good working English knowledge.
