Job Purpose:
- The Community Based PSS Trainer will focus on building the capacity of Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Social Development Centers (SDCs) and community members and groups on CP prevention activities such as community based PSS activities. He/she will also be responsible in ensuring a day to day on the job coaching and follow-up of the activities implemented by SDCs social workers, CBOs volunteers and community members.
Generic Duties:
Reporting lines
- The Community Based PSS Trainer will work under the direct supervision of the PSS Coordinator with reference to project-related activities, and – in parallel - under the supervision of the Project Manager Assistant with reference to field management related activities
Main responsibilities
- set-up ad hoc capacity building programme to reinforce the quality of the community based PSS activities conducted by SDCs, CBOs and community members;
- provide support to SDCs social workers and CBOs volunteers in implementing weekly PSS activities through: the planning of community based PSS activities, outreaching activities, special events;
- ensure that the planning of PSS activities matches procedures and standards to implement PSS activities;
- commit to support CBOs, SDCs and community members in the implementation of community based PSS activities.

Capacity Building:
- build the capacity of CBOs, SDCs and community members on CP prevention activities through ad hoc capacity building programme on CP and PSS concepts;
- conduct ad hoc trainings to CBOs, SDCs and community members on Safe Identification and Referral, Child Protection Minimum Standard, CP policy and communication with children tools adopted by INTERSOS and endorsed by UNICEF;
- conduct ad hoc trainings to CBOs, SDCs and community members on the following curriculums: Community Based PSS CV, Positive Parenting Skills CV, PSS CV for adolescents and other tools adopted by INTERSOS and endorsed by UNICEF;
- conduct trainings on Monitoring and Evaluation tools in order to ensure a proper referral and registration of beneficiaries;
- conduct ad hoc trainings to CBOs, SDCs and community members on adopted monitoring tools such as: daily and monthly attendance sheet, registration, consent form, help-desk ( accountability, suggestion box, complain and response mechanism, information service) etc;
- Activities implementation:
- set-up joint follow-up plan with CBOs, SDCs and community members for activities implementation;
- conduct on the job coaching to CBOs, SDCs and community members in coordination with the PSS Coordinator;
- ensure the respect of CP policies and CP minimum standards inside the SDCs and CBOs where community based PSS activities are conducted;
- set-up clear action plan in collaboration with SDCs and CBOs staff conducting community based PSS activities, in order to ensure an effective implementation of the activities
Specific Duties:
- Additional activities:
- collaborate closely with the PSS team of his/her area of intervention (Senior Social Worker, Social Worker for Adolescents, Social Worker WGSS and Case Worker) in order to ensure a proper implementation of the activities and to provide support when needed;
- liaise and collaborate with other CP programs and other sector specialists (Protection team);
- liaise and collaborate with the Protection Coordinator and the PSS Coordinator for activities implementation;
- liaise and collaborate with the SDCs Directors and the CBOs representatives in order to ensure a proper follow-up of the activities implemented in the field;
- report any challenge faced during the implementation of the activities by SDCs and CBOs to i) SDC Coordinator ii) PSS Coordinator and iii) Field Activity Officer;
- Reporting:
- Ensuring quality reporting on achievements through short briefings, monthly and weekly planning presented against weekly and monthly performance reports containing clear qualitative and quantitative information related to the activities.
- Participating in the delivery of project reporting (monthly report) for submission to Field Activity Officer;
- Delivering quality project activities reporting, including the findings in terms of impact and changes at the level of individuals and communities. More specifically, preparing ad-hoc progress reporting as well as required project interim and final reports.
- Coordination and representation.
- If delegated, proactively participating and representing INTERSOS in relevant working groups (i.e. inter-agency and other relevant working groups) at the regional level (South).
- Ensuring systematic information and update sharing with the PM and relevant colleagues.
