Community Mobiliser

Background Main Objectives With the support and supervision of the Field Activities Coordinator, Project Manager and the Youth Support Officer, the Community Mobilizer is responsible for the correct and efficient implementation of the project’s community mobilization activities and awareness activities in the assigned area. General duties and responsibilities: -       Promotes, facilitates and encourages the achievement of the planned objectives. -       Ensures that INTERSOS activities are non biased, neutral and inclusive of all actors present in the project areas. -       Ensures Community Mobilization through coordination meetings and discussions; -       Works directly in the field with Municipalities and the whole communities (refugee and host) of the project locations he/she is allocated to. -       Facilitates, collects and reports information regarding the overall situation of the children and their families. -       Supports and assists in the network mapping of services available for children and family in the locations he/she operates in. -       Ensures a strict adherence to INTERSOS Internal Rule, Code of Ethics, and Child Protection Policy including respect for confidentiality.   Specific duties and responsibilities: Outreach Activities: -       The Community Mobilizer CM is in charge to conduct the outreach component of the project and to ensure the community mobilization. -       The CM works in strict collaboration with the other CM under the GBV project. -       The villages’ visits are done by the CM having the aim to take contact with the communities, to introduce the contents of the project and to create a baseline of beneficiaries in each village. -       The CM is in charge of creating a mutual trust with the beneficiaries and to be the link between INTERSOS and the community. -       The CM is responsible of arrangement, coordination and delivery of community awareness raising activities as determined by project objectives: Awareness sessions on Child protection issues, GBV issues, on life-saving information and services available etc…  If requested, the CM does family questionnaires and assessments.  Plan and implement NFIs distributions. -       The CM is responsible to participate in the organization of some events in occasion of international celebration, such as the World Refugee Day or other relevant national celebrations. -       Assist in the production of a referral pathway tool, clearly identifying both formal and information child protection resources in the community. Case Management: -       If needed and according to the protections criteria, the CM refers children and families to Case Workers. Administration: -       In case of expenditure provide proper documentations (receipts, quotations etc…). -       Signs daily attendance sheets. Reporting: -       Provide a mapping of the existing services of the targeted areas during the start-up of the project. -       Provide a monthly plan with scheduled villages’ visits, to share in advance with the community. -       Provide weekly report of the activities done to FAC, PM and YSO Meeting: -       Be available for participates in meeting in the centre or in Tyre INTERSOS Office. -       Meets with other program staff as required.

Qualifications: - Advanced Diploma in Community Development or Social Work; - At least one year work experience in community development position; - Experience in the use of community participatory methodologies in emergency operations; - Experience in awareness on GBV and CP issues; - Strong organizational skills; - Strong interpersonal skill and communication skills; - Good command of verbal and written English; - Good knowledge word and excel; - Driving license holder;
