Data Entry Clerk (Contributing Towards Ensuring Food Security For Vulnerable Conflict-Affected Syrian Refugees In Lebanon)

Based in Zahle, the Data Entry Clerk (DEC) will make sure that data coming from different field sources are accurately and consistently entered in ad hoc databases, cross-checked and validated before being processed. The DEC will always reconcile data entries with hard copies, maintain beneficiaries’ confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential. The DEC will work closely with the International Project Manager. INTERSOS invites local candidates WITH REGULAR LEBANESE WORKING PERMIT to apply for the position of Data Entry Clerk, to support INTERSOS activities to contribute towards ensuring food security for vulnerable conflict-affected Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Women are kindly invited to apply for this position. NOTE: candidates are asked for flexibility in terms of working hours.   KEY DUTIES: Enter e-cards paper forms, attendance sheets, paper questionnaires, survey outputs, post-distribution monitoring forms, logbooks, field assessment forms and other paper inputs from Field Officers, Team Leaders and Information Officers into set databases; Enter data in a timely and accurate manner into spread-sheets and Word documents; Provide databases to International Project Manager and Track basic statistics and trends from the data, in collaboration with the team; Prepare updated figures and information requests, as requested by the International Project Manager and team; Prepare source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities when necessary; Process beneficiaries and account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies or returning incomplete documents to the Officer for resolution; Enter beneficiaries and account data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information according to screen and paper format; Maintain data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures; Reconcile data entries with hard copies, to ensure proper entry and cross checking; Verify entered beneficiaries and account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or re-entering data;  purging files to eliminate duplication of data; Secure information by completing data base backups; Maintain beneficiaries’ confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential; Other duties as required. The qualified candidate must be flexible in this regard!   Knowledge and Skills: High school or technical school graduate, Bachelor Degree preferable; Previous experience with an NGO preferred, especially within data entry work; Computer literacy, particularly in Word and Excel; Strong Arabic AND English reading, writing and comprehension skills, both languages are a must; Fast typing speed; Able to work outside of regular working hours as required, including evenings and weekends if required; Patience, good personal organisation, good communication and ability to work in teams, seriously, rigorously and personal accountability; Initiative, flexibility and willing to learn; Ability to work under time pressure, independently, and with limited supervision; Good level of numeracy;   EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum 1 year of work experience.   START DATE: As soon as possible   EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Contract – Full Time only
