Driver

All INTERSOS employees and consultant are expected to perform their roles and responsibilities according to INTERSOS chart of values and code of ethics. The job description is mandatory for all position within INTERSOS and shall be signed by employee within the first week of employment. Job Title        : Driver Reports to       : Logistics Assistant Duty Station    : Sour, South region Position Type  : Full Time Salary                    : 950 USD (net salary)[1]   Job Purpose: Drive, responsible for the maintenance and readiness  of the vehicles, ensure optimal performance and cleanliness of  vehicles before and after their use , responsible for  safety of the team and for goods transported on INTERSOS vehicles   Generic Duties: -       Assist with projects as requested by logistics team -       Transport INTERSOS employees and other designated persons and supplies to and from various locations throughout the country  -       Adhere to speed limits and  Lebanese  traffic laws -       Morning daily  inspection of  the vehicles each time before driving and after their use; -       Make sure that all vehicle documents are in order as required by  Lebanon’s regulations and norms; -       Ensure the assigned vehicle is in good working order through daily checks of: radiator water, battery acid and terminal integrity, transmission oil (in the case of vehicles, ensure the differentials are fully lubricated), fuel, air cleaner, brakes, all turn signals, all lights, power steering fluid (if applicable), communication equipment, and other pertinent vehicle functions; -       Ensure that the tank of vehicle is full each day before the beginning of the working day (overnight the tank must be full in case of night time emergency) and prior to reporting to duty; -       Take care of all safety measures, including seatbelts, spare tire, manual jack, and other tools for replacing tires when needed; -       Inform supervisor immediately when vehicle requires service (repairs or regular maintenance), when problems arise concerning vehicle operations, and all other instances of vehicle malfunction, or as indicated on service log; -       Follow security protocols for displaying INTERSOS logo while driving during working hours; -       Fill the Log sheet with all  information required (date, time, location, destination, fuel consumption…)Assist INTERSOS staff with the logistics, administrative, procurement, such as but not limited to photocopying, purchasing material and goods, moving equipment and items, etc…;  -       Accomplish any other task requested by Logistic Assistant and other business requested by the mission.    Specific Duties:   -       To transport authorized passengers on their official duties, as well transport cargo safely and as instructed. This includes collecting materials from project sites and suppliers. -       Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc. -       To adhere to INTERSOS policies and procedures, including but not limited to:         i) Understand and obey all traffic laws and regulations                ii) Accurately keep the vehicle log sheets.         Iii) Performance of daily vehicle inspections according to INTERSOS standards.         iv) Applying the standard regulations and procedures in case of accident.    v) respect security measures -       Undertake frequent trips to and from the field offices, including overnight stays if required. -       Travel to all areas in Lebanon without any exception for any location unless location avoided as per security measures; -       Commitment to work serving humanitarian needs in line the values of integrity, service and accountability Education: Secondary School Education   Competencies:  (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)  Professional Competencies:   -       2 years of relevant driving experience -       Minimum of 25 years old. -       Applying to INTERSOS standards, policies and guidelines; -       Experience for reacting in emergency and security situations; -       Methodical and organised (in vehicle maintenance); -       Basic car maintenance knowledge; -       Good knowledge of local area; -       Can Drive manual and Automatic cars; -       Valid Lebanese driving licence   Behavioural competencies: -       Ability to maintain a calm demeanour in the handling of all types of officials including police and military personnel; -       Sense of humour and patience are essential; -       Excellent Punctuality -       Good organizational capacity; -       Autonomy and Flexibility;   Languages: -       Good knowledge of Arabic and Basic English knowledge preferable. [1] Salary subject to variation due to the seniority in the organization and the acceptance of the salary grid by donors, net salary does not include the transportation allowance.
