INTERSOS is a non-profit humanitarian aid organization that works to bring assistance to people in danger, victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts. Established in 1992 with support from the Italian Federation of Trade Unions, its actions are based on the values of solidarity, justice, human dignity, equal rights and opportunities for all people and respect for diversity and coexistence, paying particular attention to the most vulnerable and the unprotected.

INTERSOS is an independent association which, through its own humanitarian operators, intervenes to effectively answer the needs of people in serious crises situations, mainly in the world's poorest regions, who are suffering, deprived of rights, dignity and essentials goods. It maintains a flexible operating structure. The head office in Italy coordinates, supports and monitors the planned activities in the countries of intervention carried out by decentralized offices.

Job Purpose:
Under the supervision from the Project Manager and with the support of the Protection Manager, the Field Assistant is responsible for the correct and efficient implementation of the projects activities in the assigned area.
The Field Assistant provides ongoing support and guidance to the respective staff to ensure that the projects meet high quality and best practice standards, in addition to prioritizing the safety and security of beneficiaries and staff.
Generic Duties:
- Provide support and guidance to the staff to ensure that the implementation and procedures of activities are in line with the Project Description and that the staff comply with INTERSOS internal rules.
- Act according to the Child Protection and GBV prevention and response in Emergency Minimum standards.
- Ensure that protection principles are understood, maintained and enforced;
- Collaborate with the technical staff (Protection Officers) to plan and monitor the correct implementation of specific activities related to CDCs
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting on youth initiatives.
- Liaise with local stakeholders, service providers, local government bodies and other community services centers for strengthening joint planning and synergies for community participation in line with INTERSOS strategy.
- Maintain smooth communication and coordination between the CDC teams and the management.
- Ensure management and supervision of all the operetional aspects of the centers including security, logistics and admin.

- Participate to protection and coordination meetings upon request
- Be available for eventual trainings provided by INTERSOS or external stakeholders.
- Represent INTERSOS in the area of intervention and maintain positive coordination and relationships with NGOs / INGOs and local institutions present in the field.
- Perform other related duties upon request to support the project team and the project implementation process.
Other Specific Duties:
(Can be adapted to the particularities of the job location and the requirement of the project. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hire).
- Work in close collaboration with the logistician in order to provide to the staff the cars in good condition; collect and submit on a monthly basis to the logistic the request of needs of the center and material for the implementation of activities.
- Submit to Project Manager the Purchase Requests accordingly with the plan of activities and budget on a weekly basis.
- Manage the Liquidity in proper way, provide on time the right justification papers at the administration.
- Suggest new activities to implement according with the beneficiaries needs.
- Conduct weekly visits to CDCs and share Minutes of Meeting with management.
- Oversee and ensure implementation of CDC activities and report violations on time.
- Coordinate and conduct weekly/monthly meetings with Caritas/Amel to plan use of rooms, logistics and other CDC related issues
- Assure the security of the staff, share security information with the Security Officer of ML, follow up the security rules of INTERSOS (Comprehensive Plan Process document).
- Coordinate with Pos of PSS, OVs, CM and CSMC to cooperate on the implementation in the field.
- Ensure a safe and child-friendly atmosphere within the center including proper safety measures, child friendly decoration, cleanliness and materials reachable to beneficiaries;
- Inform the management on a weekly basis about any difficulty met in INTERSOS activities implementation
