Field Information Officer (Contributing Towards Ensuring Food Security For Vulnerable Conflict-Affected Syrian Refugees In Lebanon)

Based either in West Bekaa or Rachaya Districts with daily movements to the field, the Field Information Officer (FIO) will make sure that his/her colleagues in the team - composed of the Team Leader, monitoring field officers and his/herself- raise awareness among local authorities and key refugee community members on the transition from paper vouchers to e-cards, that shopkeepers are fully informed about the program implementation and e-card system. Together with the other relevant project staff, the FIO will coordinate and manage the distribution of e-cards at the distribution sites, providing the beneficiaries with detailed explanation and demonstration of how to use the e-card. After the e-card distribution, the FIO will visit shops and beneficiaries to keep on the knowledge sharing and information efforts to make sure that the primary and secondary users make the most of the e-card system and the actors receive feedback from the users. Under the direct supervision of the Team Leader and International Project Manager, the FIO will be primarily responsible for disseminating regular up-to-date and accurate information to refugees, shopkeepers and host community members on how the e-card system works and what services are provided at the Community Centers. He/she will design and deliver information sessions, implement assessments (such as interviews and questionnaires), assist in preparing basic information documents (including leaflets, posters, bulletin boards, radio broadcasts) as well as ensuring that information provided by the SMS-based information subscription service is kept up to date, conduct outreach sessions and participate in other relevant activities. The FIO will work closely with his/her Team Leader and International Project Manager. INTERSOS invites local candidates WITH REGULAR LEBANESE WORKING PERMIT to apply for the position of Field Information Officer, to support INTERSOS activities to contribute towards ensuring food security for vulnerable conflict-affected Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Women are strobly invited to apply for this position. NOTE: Candidates are asked for flexibility in terms of working hours. Candidates MUST have a valid Lebanese driving license.   SPECIFIC DUTIES: In coordination with the other Field Information Officers, organise daily work in the served areas; Prepare SMS-based information to e-card beneficiaries on date, location of distribution centers and shift on distribution day; Conduct regular assessments (including interviews, questionnaires) in identified areas; Conduct individual and group information sessions to raise awareness among identified beneficiaries; Prepare information work and materials; Prepare weekly schedule for outreach work in the served area and keep regularly updated and inform all relevant INTERSOS staff; Conduct information sessions for beneficiaries; Assist in the sensitisation of the Syrian refugees and host communities on the existing INTERSOS activities; Prepare information documents (including leaflets, posters, bulletin boards, radio broadcasts) for target beneficiaries, local community and shopkeepers; Work cooperatively with the beneficiaries and other relevant e-card stakeholders to strengthen the project; Assist in designing the needed forms, questionnaires and other templates; Maintain archiving system up to date (both in hardcopies and electronically); Perform any other task as assigned by INTERSOS management; Follow-up the complaint mechanisms.   Knowledge, Skills and Requirements: Bachelor Degree in any discipline related to the profile (please explain in the application email why you think your education background is appropriate); Must be able to train a team and relate to beneficiaries, either on a one-to-one basis or in front of vast groups; Experience with presentation methodologies and Powerpoint slides preparation (experience in document design and layout); Experience in the field of surveys; Experience in public speaking; Experience in providing information and supporting services; Experience in working with community sensitisation; Valid Lebanese driving license; Ability to travel to provide on-site guidance and training; Knowledge of humanitarian principles and Good knowledge of the region and local languages; Capability to establish with the persons and families a good and respectful contact in order to ensure the quality of relationship; Good physical fitness to walk distances if necessary; Patience, good personal organisation, good communication and ability to work in teams, seriously, rigorously and personal accountability; Very good Interpersonal and Diplomatic Skills in client/beneficiaries-facing situations; Initiative, flexibility and willing to learn; Ability to work under time pressure, independently, and with limited supervision; Very good IT skills (Android phones, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel); Good level of numeracy; Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is a must because he/she must be able to translate from Arabic to English and vice versa; Preferably, the candidates should be able to drive his/her own vehicle if necessary.   EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum 2 years’ experience in the field and in a related position.   START DATE: As soon as possible   EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Contract – Full Time only
