Main legal issues to be covered:
- Family Law
- Legal identity including obtaining civil documentation necessary to access rights and services (birth registration and marriage registration)
- Citizenship and statelessness issues related to displacement
Exceptionally, the team may engage in other thematic areas based on needs and external requests.
Generic Duties:
Conduct basic interviews with beneficiaries in order to assess legal and urgent protection need;
provide legal information to beneficiaries on main legal issues encountered;
plan and facilitate awareness sessions on different legal topics;
be involved in the office organization of awareness sessions or any other topic to be decided according to the need, in close coordination with the legal team;
respect deadline for the delivering of weekly and monthly reports and any kind of urgent reporting to the Legal Protection Officer;
any other task not listed here but necessary to the project and activities;
available to work extra hours and available at the weekend for emergency cases.
attend meetings and workshop/training as requested by the Legal Consultant and the Legal Protection officer;
Specific Duties:
Compiling the legal database and sharing it with the Legal Protection Officer and the Protection Manager on a weekly basis;
drafting with legal consults risk analysis for cases to be considered for court representation and send them at a later time to the Legal Protection Officer;
proving inputs on legal assistance activities, needs, gaps and trends for internal and donor reporting purposes;
participating with the Legal Protection Officer and/or the Protection Manager to relevant meetings and Inter-Agency working groups;
conducting info sharing sessions and individual counselling for beneficiaries on legal topics;
conducting awareness sessions for beneficiaries on legal topics
contribute to the draft of weekly “liquidity plans” to be sent to the Legal Protection Officer.
