Job purpose
In the framework of the above-mentioned project, the position is aimed at ensuring the proper and effective implementation of all activities planned to achieve the intervention objectives and expected results, including all related administrative and financial aspects, as well as at providing technical support to the Mission strategy and programme.
Work plan schedule
9 months, with possibility of extension on the base of availability of funds and project development.

Key objectives and duties
The Project Coordinator is expected to ensure a correct management and implementation of the project adopting a participatory approach, in order to strengthen the community base systems, in the identification of needs and in the design and implementation of activities.
Overall responsibilities
Managing the project in line with the project document including reporting and budget management and follow up.
Preparing, managing and regularly updating the project activities work plan and related financial plan, ensuring timely and quality implementation in compliance with the defined project strategy as well as INTERSOS and donor guidelines.
Coordinating with logistic, administration and finance units to procure all equipment, supplies, materials and services required to implement the project activities, ensuring cost efficiency and accountability in compliance with INTERSOS and donor regulations and procedures.
Undertaking field visits to provide technical guidance and supervision as well as to regularly monitoring the progress of activities.
Ensuring the integration of activities with other INTERSOS projects, as well as coordinating with other actors intervening in the same area.
Preparing periodic project narrative and financial reports as well as other ad hoc reports, according to INTERSOS and donor requirements.
Elaborate trends and situation analysis in particular on early marriage on the base of data collected through the implementation of the activities.
Supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of the Mission strategy and programme.
Representing INTERSOS in relevant thematic working groups as well as other coordination and meetings, as needed.
Provide technical support to project staff on early marriage prevention and response including trainings and development of tailored curriculums.
Collaborate with the Protection Coordinator and relevant colleagues to facilitate the adoption of early marriage tools in other INTRSOS programmes.
Collaborate with the Protection Coordinator in the realization of protection analysis reports on specific protection topics.
Accomplishing any other assignments given by the Programme Coordinator and Protection Coordinator.
Specific responsibilities related to the project implementation
Ensure the integration of activities with other INTERSOS projects, sharing details of activities and activities planning.
Facilitate trainings on i) risks and consequences of early marriage, including risks and consequences related to reproductive health-RH/Family Plannig, ii) perceived root causes of early marriage and possible alternatives and iii) any other related topics.
Ensure the participation of project staff to internal and external trainings on i) GBV and Early Marriage, ii) peer to peer approach and iii) working with men to prevent and respond to GBV.
Supervise the organization and delivery of focus groups discussions (FDGs) with targeted beneficiaries, in order to identify topics/subjects for the GBV programme
Identify public and private institutions and/or private trainers to provide trainings and vocational trainings and follow-up the realization of the activities.
Ensure that a mapping of key influential stakeholders and community leaders is conducted in the catchment areas
Develop in collaboration with UNFPA, project staff and thematic key staff (ex. GBV Coordinator, PSS coordinator and Protection Coordinator) an ad hoc curriculum for men activities and supervise its implementation from a technical and managerial point of view.
Develop in collaboration with UNFPA, project staff and thematic key staff (ex. GBV Coordinator, PSS coordinator and Protection Coordinator) ad hoc programmes for tailored awareness sessions for girls, mothers, fathers and community leaders and supervise their implementation from a technical and managerial point of view.
Guarantee support to project staff from a technical and managerial point of view in order to implementation activities as per working plan, maintaining high qualitative standard.
Collaborate with any other stakeholders present in the region in order to strengthen networking and advocacy on specific topics.
Ensure that project staff abides by INTERSOS CP, PSEA and Communication policies and any other internal rules.
Ensure that project staff implements data protection protocols when collecting, storing and sharing beneficiary’s personal information
Specific responsibilities related to the collaboration with the Protection Coordinator
Collaborate with the protection coordinator to:
- analyze protection trends on the base of information provided by internal and external sources such as i) data teams; ii) protection reports; iii) circulars from Ministries and regulations; iv) laws and elaborate informative documents;
- elaborate monthly and ad hoc reports, including protection trends/gaps and challenges, on the base of protection analysis activity;
- compile and analyze National Protection Monitoring Data reports on a monthly and had hoc basis;
- elaborate project proposals focused on protection activities;
- contribute to the elaboration and revision of the INTERSOS protection strategies and its implementation within the mission;
- develop Protection Advocacy documents and campaigns;
- represent the organization in Protection working groups and meetings.
Working relationships
Establishing and maintaining collaborative relations with representatives from donors, local municipalities, schools, partners, workers, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders.
Contributing to the maintenance of an up-to-date service mapping of the service providers operating in the area and take proactive steps to remain informed about the available services.
Human resources
In coordination with the Human Resources Unit, carrying out recruitment procedures for the national staff, OVs and consultants.
Training, coordinating and supervising the national staff and evaluating their performance.
Reporting
Provide the required reports to the donor.
Any change to the proposed activities should be discussed with the INTERSOS Office.
A high degree of flexibility on the part of all staff is expected in order to respond to the ever-evolving situation. This job description might change based on the situation in the field. He/she can be asked required to perform other related duties as identified by his supervisor.
Other objectives and duties
As requested by the Head of Mission and or Programme Coordinator, for the effective implementation of the project.
Education:
University Degree in Social Work, Gender Studies, Law or related fields
Competencies: (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Professional Competencies:
- Minimum 2 years of project coordination and management work experience;
- Minimum 2 years of NGO experience in developing countries;
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Protection programs;
- Deep knowledge of GBV issues and experience in implementing ad hoc GBV curriculum (ex. Hala’s Book, Arab Women Speak Out, My safety My Wellbeing);
- Experience in conducting trainings on Protection issues and on how to conduct awareness sessions and FGSs;
- Previous line management experience;
- Experience of working in a multicultural team environment;
- Experience of working in insecure environments and adhering to security measures;
- Proficient in MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, outlook etc.)
- Understanding and commitment to GBV, Child Protection and Protection principles
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
- Good analytical and reporting skills in English.
- Good Knowledge of English;
- Driving License valid from more than 1 year
