Project Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION   All INTERSOS employees and consultant are expected to perform their roles and responsibilities according to INTERSOS Charter of Values and Code of Ethics. The job description is mandatory for each position within INTERSOS and shall be signed by the employee within the first week of employment.   Job title           : Project Manager Reports to        : Programme Coordinator Duty station      : Beirut, with frequent visits to Bekaa, South, and Mount Lebanon Position type    : Full-time     Project: Micro gardening and Nutrition for Vulnerable Syrian Refugees and Vulnerable Lebanese.   Job purpose The position is aimed at ensuring the proper and effective implementation of all activities planned to achieve the intervention objectives and expected results, including all related administrative and financial aspects, as well as at providing technical support to the mission strategy and programme.   Generic duties   Programme   -          Preparing, managing and regularly updating the project activities work plan and related financial plan, ensuring timely and quality implementation in compliance with the defined project strategy as well as INTERSOS and donor guidelines. -          Analyzing the geographical distribution of the targeted beneficiaries in the project areas to define the exact locations of intervention, as well as properly organize strategic distribution of Micro Gardens. -          Coordinating with logistic, administration and finance staff to procure all equipment, supplies and materials required to implement the project activities, ensuring cost efficiency and accountability in compliance with INTERSOS and donor regulations and procedures. -          Developing in coordination with relevant actors and set up the monitoring, complaint and appeal mechanisms necessary to guarantee quality and effectiveness of project implementation -          Undertaking daily field visits to provide technical guidance and supervision as well as regularly monitor the progress of the project activities. -          Continuously assessing, analyzing and evaluating the impact of the project activities and the needs of the target populations in the project areas, periodically update the situation analysis and inform Programme colleagues accordingly. -          Working closely with colleagues to ensure the integration of the project activities with other sectors/projects as part of INTERSOS Programme in Lebanon. -          Preparing the project narrative and financial reports, according to INTERSOS and donors per monitoring and reporting per requirements. -          Supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of the mission strategy and Programme in reference to the Food Security Sector, providing inputs and recommendations for new and ongoing interventions in the Country.   Human resources :   -          Completing the recruitment and selection of the project national staff. -          Training, coordinating and supervising/managing the project national staff and evaluate their performance.     Working relationships :   -          Establishing and maintaining collaborative relations with relevant donor officers, local authorities, partners, project stakeholders and other organizations working in the project areas. -          Proactively participating in Food Security Working Group and related technical working groups (micro garden and community kitchen) as well as relevant inter-sectoral coordination meetings at national, regional and district levels.   Education   Degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Food Sciences, Economics, or other relevant fields.   Competencies (knowledge, skills and abilities)   Professional competencies:   -          Minimum 3 years of project coordination and management work experience. -          Previous NGO experience -          Previous line management experience -          Experience of working in a multicultural team environment -          Experience of working in insecure environments and adhering to security measures -          Proficient in MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, outlook etc.) -          Background and/or experience in Agriculture and Rural Development is a plus.   Behavioral competencies:   -          High integrity -          High flexibility with the ability to create solutions to operational problems -          Leadership skills -          Excellent diplomatic communication and organizational skills -          Experience and ability to train others, facilitate workshops and transfer knowledge -          Resources management to optimize results.   Languages:   -          Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English.   Remuneration: -          Net Salary: USD $2200 per month. -          Transportation Reimbursement: LBP 8,000 per working day -          Additional: Fully covered Social Security Costs and Terror Insurance. Contract Validity: The validity period of the contract will be from May 2016 to Dec 31, 2016, extendable based on performance and availability of funding.   Working hours:  Working hours will be from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with half an hour break.
