Job title: Protection Support
Reports to: Protection Project Manager/ SGBV Focal Point and Protection Coordinator
Duty station: Nabatieh.
Position type: Full-time (4 months)
Job Purpose:
The Protection Support staff is responsible for being the fist point of contact for the centers, ensuring a professional and efficient implementation of all activities and assisting the protection team. Furthermore:
The presence of staff member will ensure the safety of the CWs and the beneficiaries who access the centers from any unpleased incidents;
Staff will receive training on protection main principles to respect critical cases. He/she will also be provided continuous coaching on receiving beneficiaries at the center and providing the basic information about INTERSOS services.
Staff will ensure that centers are open always during working hours without the need of closing it when caseworkers have other duties outside.
Staff will provide support and for vulnerable cases with protection concerns by being the first point of contact at the safe space.
Generic Duties:
Be available at the centers during working hours and ensure that the people who are accessing the safe spaces put no risk on the staff there or on any other visitor there.
Collect relevant information on visitors and maintain logbook for visitors.
Receive visitors when CWs are away and provide the needed basic information, and reveal that back to the CW to support people.
Accompany CWs with high-risk cases, and join CWs for risky places and in home visits that need their support.
Assist in office work including data entry, printing and preparations for trainings and events.
Be available to participate in meetings and trainings in and outside the centers when required.
Accomplish any other task not here listed if necessary to the project’s achievement.
Maintain the utmost standards of confidentiality when assisting beneficiaries and working in the center.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience
- Driving license
- Good understanding of protection and refugee rights
- Ability and willingness to travel to project areas and spend extended periods with communities and volunteers
- Experience in conducting basic administrative tasks
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skill and communication skills
- Knowledge of MS Office is a plus
- Knowledge of English is a plus
- Experience in dealing with volunteers and local authorities is a plus
Any change to the proposed activities should be discussed with the INTERSOS office in Tyre.
A high degree of flexibility on the part of all staff is expected in order to respond to the ever-evolving situation. This job description may change based on the situation in the field. He/she can be asked required to perform other related duties as identified by his supervisor.
