Job Purpose:
Act according to the guiding principles of GBV, and Child Protection case management including: survivor centered approach, respect of confidentiality, prioritize according to safety concerns, ‘do no harm’, ensure a non-discriminatory approach, act according to the best interest of the child, ensure accountability, respect professional boundaries and avoid conflict of interest;
- Ensure that protection principles are understood, maintained and enforced;
- Provide direct support and care for vulnerable case with protection concerns (including survivors of gender-based violence), including psychosocial support and case management.
- Supervise and manage Case Worker team
Generic Duties:
- Plan/Coordinate with the field assistant and the Case Workers team; and in high risk cases, in consultation with Protection officer, to avoid duplication.
- Ensure the provision of emergency cash assistance for the most vulnerable clients, according to the needs of the clients, the agreed criteria and the internal procedures and under the supervision of the CM Protection officer
- Be available to participate in meetings and trainings in and outside the centres including case management meetings and case conferences meetings or any other meetings when required
- Accomplish any other assignments given by Protection officer or PROM
Monitoring and Reporting
- Provide daily and weekly updates to the National Protection officer-CM and or Protection manager about new cases assessed as per internal rules;
- Elaborate on a monthly basis assessment, monitoring tools and send all case management documents to the Protection officer each month;
- Elaborate and send the weekly report to the P.O National and reporting associate.
- Collect the data about cases assessed and assisted by case workers in her/his team to update the internal case tracking sheets (weekly and monthly reporting);
- Ensure the effective filing and update of cases, internal case management platform (Knack), GBVIMS and other reporting.
- Update and report service mapping to protection officer and Reporting Associate
Other Specific Duties:
- Ensure timely and proper feedback/communication to Donor on specific cases requests.
- Supervise implementation of case management in the intervention location in accordance with all CM steps and related tools and procedures as defined through INTERSOS Protection Strategy and SOPs. ensuring that all high-risk cases are addressed immediately by case workers and shared with the direct line manager for possible intervention
- Ensure equal distribution of tasks within the case worker team
- Monitor the correct documentation and compilation of CM forms in accordance with all CM steps and related tools and procedures
- Hold regular internal mentoring and coaching sessions based on identified needs and gaps
- Ensuring proper and timely information flow, supervision and technical guidance in complex/high risk cases.
- Ensure coordination and synergy with the main service providers in the area of intervention for prompt referral, follow up and information sharing;
- monitor and supervise the work of case workers in his/her team and ensure the weekly update of the database, cash assistance request and any other document requested by supervisor
- Give technical first guidance on simple cases (referrals, questions on BIA/BID, feedback on forms, etc)
- Compile and quality review PCAP, BIDs/BIAs, IA referral forms, knack and other related forms.
- Fulfil supervisory role for caseworkers in the centers following up on attendance, performance, and respect of code conduct and confidentiality.
- Monitor and supervise caseworkers in terms of attendance and respecting working hours inside intersos centers.
- Supports multi-disciplinary working, developing and maintaining where needed intervention in collaboration with Intersos and UNHCR different programs health, education, legal,shelter to ensure that multi-agency work maximizes the impact of service delivery.
- Planning and management of assessments and support services in a timely and effective way, to ensure that cases are identified and addressed at the earliest possible stage.
- Initiate routine case audits according to established audit procedures, to be undertaken as part of a general performance evaluation of caseworkers.
- Identify needs and build technical competencies of caseworkers, securing professional one to one trainings and supervision with the support of POCM on a regular basis and according to the CM strategic plan.
- Monitor the delivery of cash assistance to allocated cases in addition to handling the closure of pending with administration.
- Plan with his/her team weekly HHV and ensure timely feedback is being shared with the Donor in regards to HHVs.
Human resources:
- Support in recruitment and selection of case workers
- Support Protection officer in building staff capacity on case management and the guiding principles on protection
- Support, coordinate and supervise case worker team and evaluate their performance, especially from the technical point of view.
