Social Worker

The social worker will be responsible of the work planning and implementation of recreational, social and awareness activities to address the target population, with special attention to people with specific needs and vulnerabilities when appropriate, according to the overall project approach and strategy. Report to: Field activities coordinator General duties and responsabilities: Works directly with women, men, girls, boys and children in the INTERSOS Centres, carrying out social and awareness session activities with them, involving parents and community members when appropriate Ensures that protection principles are understood, maintained and enforced Is the visible link between the INTERSOS Centre and the community Informs supervisors about any difficulty met in INTERSOS activities implementation Acts according to the guiding principles GBV and Child Protection  Psychosocial Activities: Develop trust, tolerance and co-operation among community members through peer - led focus groups discussions and awareness sessions; Identify, refer or ad hoc assist and follow up vulnerable cases; Design and conduct recreational, psychosocial and non-formal education activities; Plan, design and monitor informal skills training at the assigned Centre to facilitate the development of self-management, decision making and self-help processes among the target population; Facilitate the participation of all the segments of the target population to the planned activities held at the assigned center, notably the most vulnerable ones (refugees, local community, youth, women, elderly, minority members, people with disabilities etc.), ensuring that proper attention is paid to specific emotional and physical needs. Liaise with local stakeholders, service providers, local government bodies (primarily CDSs) and other community services centers for strengthening joint planning and synergies for community participation. Identify and engage community volunteers in the planned socio-recreational activities held at the assigned center; Maintain daily attendance registers and monthly inventory sheets for each activity; Ensure that the supplied Centre material is daily accounted for and secured;  Case Management: Contribute to the identification of project targeted women, girls and children and report identified cases to INTERSOS protection officer for support or referral; Support the case workers in conducting home visits; Assist the case management team in delivering case management services (identification, assessment, follow up of GBV and CP cases); Accomplish any other assignments given by supervisors or other professionals intervening in the centre.  Reporting: Provide basic information about project activities and report on a weekly and monthly basis Assist the team leader and the field coordinator in realizing weekly and monthly reports
