Job Title           : Social Worker for adolescent Reports to       : Field Activities Officer (FAO) Duty Station    : Baqleen area, Upper Chouf, Mount Lebanon region Position Type   : Full time Salary            : 1.620 USD[1] (gross salary)   Job Purpose: The Social Worker implements activities and/or trainings in INTERSOS centers and outreach working directly with women, men, adolescent and children. In particular the social worker for adolescent is responsible for delivering Psycho Social (PSS) activities in the Child Friendly Spaces in Baqleen area for adolescent and to coach Community Based Organizations (CBOs) volunteers and Social Development Centers (SDCs) staff on PSS activities.   Generic Duties: Conduct a daily variety of structured activities (psychosocial and recreational) within the center or outside, catering to the needs of children of different ages and genders and accordingly to the center activities weekly schedule; Conduct peer-led focus groups discussions, life skill trainings and awareness sessions with adolescent  accordingly to the center activities weekly schedule; Facilitate the participation of all the segments of the target population to the planned activities held at the assigned centers, notably the most vulnerable ones (refugees, local community, adolescent, women, elderly, minority members, people with disabilities etc.), ensuring that proper attention is paid to specific emotional and physical needs; Plan and design the PSS activities in collaboration with the FAO, the Psychosocial (PSS) coordinator, the Psychologist and all the team members, accordingly to INTERSOS guidelines on PSS activities; Engage volunteers and SCD staff in the planned PSS and recreational activities held at the assigned centers; Maintain daily attendance registers and a weekly and monthly inventory sheets for each activity conducted in collaboration with the FAO; Maintain and fill properly any distribution list or attendance lists for the activities conducted or the distribution done, under the supervision of the FAO; Informs the supervisors about any difficulty met in INTERSOS activities implementation; Be update about all new information send by the FAO, the Coordinator of Field Operation (CFO) or the Project Manager (PM) concerning the project, the context and the beneficiaries; Be available to participate in meetings and trainings in and outside the centers and/or in INTERSOS offices when requested; Accomplish any other assignments given by FAO, CFO and PM.     Specific duties and responsibilities:   Facilitate and encourage the participation of all adolescent, notably the most vulnerable ones, ensuring proper attention to their specific emotional and physical needs / difficulties; ensure adolescent under her/his responsibility are not exposed to any form of harm or stress during the activities; ensure the adoption of minimum standard required (ex. Child Friendly Space checklist) in the centers were the activities are implemented; ensure the respect of code of conduct in the centers and in the bus by adolescent and parents/caregivers; ensure that the provided material is properly used, kept and cleaned; ensure that the centers is in order and clean; ensure the storage and distribution of healthy refreshment; plan, organize and run PSS activities with adolescent according to their age and needs under the supervision of the FAO and the PSS coordinator; coach CBOs volunteers and SDCs staff on the implementation of PSS activities; insure that CBOs and SDCs staff: i) adopt Child Protection Policies while they are conducting their activities; ii) add to their programme selected PSS sessions drawn from INTERSOS PSS curriculum; iii) expand their current targets so as to cover Syrian beneficiaries and adolescent in need; iv) where possible to add additional sessions to their regular schedules.  follow-up CBOs volunteers and SDCs staff in the implementation of the activities; follow-up CBOs volunteers and SDCs staff in the adoption of the safe identification and referral mechanism for Child Protection cases; be responsible of the budget allocated to the CBOs and SDCs for the conduct of the activities; create the link among parents/caregivers of adolescent who are attending PSS activities and service providers in order to facilitate the establishment of family support networks; create the link between community members/community groups and adolescent who are attending PSS activities in order to implement jointly community led initiatives; be the link between the community and Non-Governmental Organization (NGOs), CBOs, SDCs and any other stakeholders present in the area; collaborate with the Community Mobilizer (CM) in the peer to peer (P2P) programme; provide information to adolescent and parents/caregivers on specialized services available in the field and facilitate the link; be available for trainings provided by INTERSOS or other organizations.   Case Management: identify and refer vulnerable cases on the base of the referral pathways adopted by INTERSOS; in case of i) adolescent dropped out of school, ii) unvaccinated, iii) married, iv) siblings of adolescent  involved in child labour, v) in need of health services, refer thorough the FAO, to the appointed organizations providing education services, shelter, food and non-food assistance; train on the job the CBOs and SDCs staff and any other volunteers on identification and referral pathways.   Reporting: collect information on number of adolescent i) participating in the activities and ii) internally and externally referred; collect information on number of adolescent i) participating in the activities conducted by CBOs and SDCs and ii) internally and externally referred; prepare weekly and monthly plans of the activities to be validated by the FAO and the PSS Coordinator; support CBOs and SDCs staff in the preparation in weekly and monthly plans  of the activities to be validated by the FAO and the PSS coordinator; fill in daily, weekly and monthly monitoring tools to be validated by the FAO; support CBOs and SDCs staff in the fill in of weekly and monthly monitoring tools to be validated by the FAO; prepare weekly and monthly reports on the base of ad hoc models providing qualitative and quantitative information.     Administration: - contribute to the preparation of weekly liquidity plans and be responsible of it;     Logistic: - coordinate, through the FAO, with the INTERSOS Logistic Department for i) refreshment and material delivery and ii) centers maintenance.     Meeting: -       be available to take part in meetings in the centre, in Tyre INTERSOS Office or in any other location required by the  FAO and the general management.   Education: University Degree in Social work or equivalent.   Competencies:  (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)   Professional Competencies: -       A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience is required -       A minimum of 2 years work experience in implementing of PSS activities and life skill activities with adolescent -                   Knowledge CP and GBV issues; -       Strong organizational skills; -       Strong interpersonal skill and communication skills; -       Knowledge of English; -       Good knowledge word and excel; -       Driving license holder -       Strong observation, analytical and listening skills -       The capacity to absorb legal/procedural information -       The ability to negotiate/mediate/interpret on behalf of service users   Behavioural competencies: -       Excellent Communication skills -       Client Orientation approach -       The social worker should have a compassionate, caring, and non-judgmental personality. -       Punctuality and respect for applicable rules and procedures;  Any change to the proposed activities should be discussed with the INTERSOS office in Tyre.   A high degree of flexibility on the part of all staff is expected in order to respond to the ever-evolving situation. This job description may change based on the situation in the field. He/she can be asked required to perform other related duties as identified by his/her supervisor.  He/she knows INTERSOS Chart of Values, Code of Ethics and SOPs for the use of cars.
