Social Worker National Position

Main Objectives: The social worker will be responsible for  the strategic planning and implementation of the Community Services activities at the assigned location, carrying out recreational, social and awareness sessions activities to address the target population, with special attention to people with specific needs and vulnerabilities when appropriate. Reporting to: Community services Specialist/National Protection officer Specific duties and responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the consultant are listed as follows: Plan, design and monitor the overall implementation plan (weekly and monthly) of the Community Services activities; Develop trust, tolerance and co-operation among community members through peer - led focus groups discussions and awareness sessions; Identify, refer or ad hoc assist and follow up vulnerable cases or with people with special needs and follow up assistance delivered; Plan, design and monitor informal skills training and life skills training at the assigned centre to facilitate the development of self-management, decision making and self-help processes among the target population; Facilitate the participation of all the segments of the target population to the planned activities held at the assigned center, notably the most vulnerable ones (Youth, women, elderly, minority members, people with disabilities etc.), ensuring that proper attention is paid to specific emotional and physical needs. Liaise with local stakeholders, service providers, local government bodies (primarily SDCs) and other community services centers for strengthening joint planning and synergies for community participation. Identify and engage community volunteers in the planned socio-recreational activities held at the assigned center; Maintain daily attendance registers and monthly inventory sheets for each assigned center; Ensure that the supplied centre material is daily accounted for and secured; Qualification and experience: A minimum Bachelor degree in social work or related field of studies; A minimum of two years of relevant NGO experience; Experience in implementing and developing participatory approaches; Demonstrated computer literacy (Excel, word, PPT, e-mail) Good command of spoken and written English Arabic native speaker Valid driving license since min. 1 year Skills and traits: Ability to work independently and under pressure; Ability and willingness to travel across the assigned project areas at short notice and spend extended periods with communities; Strong diplomatic, interpersonal, listening and communication skills; Flexibility, tolerance and maturity
