Wash Monitor

Job Purpose: The WaSH Monitor (Hygiene Promotion area) will be responsible for assisting the organization and specifically support the WASH Officer with the overall field monitoring, field management and report of water, sanitation and hygiene activities in the project sites across Bekaa, with a special focus on hygiene promotion activities, in accordance to the allocated resources and timeframe.     Generic Duties: Under the supervision of the WaSH Officer and WASH Field Assistant, assist, monitor and supervise all WaSH operation related activities implemented in the field; Perform accurate needs assessments and report outcomes to supervisor/line manager; Prepare accurate planning for water trucking and desludging, follow up the deliveries of services through different monitoring activities and prepare detailed reports on the provided services. Conduct surveys and assessments of operations to provide reports based on existing tools Control and supervise on daily base the execution of works and provision of services in the field and report to his/her supervisor/line manager; Collect, analyse and interpret all technical data concerning water trucking and desludging in the field to prepare weekly logbooks as required by the international WaSH Manager; Liaise and coordinate all the activities with the community representatives, the beneficiaries and other agencies’ representatives engaged in the WaSH sector across the project sites; Identify and report on potential needs in training and technical support of local water authorities and other stakeholders in the target areas; Submit report on the monitored activities on a weekly and monthly base; Liaise with the INTERSOS community services teams (especially with Protection Monitors) to assess needs/gaps/concerns related to WaSH and to ensure that identified gaps are reported to the WASH team; Participate in sectorial coordination meetings at local level when requested by the international WaSH Manager; Participate in workshops and trainings in the field arranged by WaSH sector, partners or INTERSOS itself; Perform other related duties upon request to support the project team and the project implementation process;   Competencies:  (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)   Professional Competencies: -       Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience of which a minimum of 8 months’ demonstrable competence and experience in management of WASH (Hygiene Promotion) integrated/community-based context, for international or local development organisations -      Demonstrable understanding of WASH services delivery in emergency, with a special focus on Hygiene Promotion; -      Excellent Computer literacy (Word, Excel) -      Knowledge in ODK and GIS systems is an asset -      Excellent Reporting skills    Behavioural competencies: -                     Strong interpersonal and communications skills. -                     Excellent ability to manage timelines and meet deadlines -                     Ability to coordinate and manage the given tasks and achieve target deliverables and outputs
