Job Purpose:
The WASH Monitor will be responsible for assisting the organization and specifically support the International WASH Manager, WASH Officer and WASH Field Assistant with the overall field monitoring, field management and report of water, sanitation and hygiene activities in the project sites across Bekaa, in accordance to the allocated resources and timeframe.
Generic Duties:
Under the supervision of the International WASH Manager, WASH Officer and WASH Field Assistant, assist, monitor and supervise all the WASH project activities running in the field;
Perform accurate needs assessments and report to supervisors and WASH Manager;
Perform precise surveys and measurements to deliver draft designs of the works to undertake;
Control on daily base the execution of works and services in the field and report to his/her supervisor and the WASH Manager;
Collect, analyse and interpret all technical data concerning the WASH activities in the field to prepare weekly logbooks as required by the International WASH Manager;
Liaise and coordinate all the activities with the community representatives, the beneficiaries and other agencies representatives engaged in the WASH sector across the project sites;
Identify and report on eventual training and technical support needs of local water authorities and other actors in the target areas;
Coordinate the Hygiene Promotion activities in the field under the supervision of the WASH Officer;
Collect information from Hygiene Promoters, identify problems and report on WASH needs and concerns in the target areas;
Perform with Hygiene Promoters and monitor the water quality testing procedure and transportation (bacteriological and chemical quality);
Submit report over the monitored activities on weekly and monthly base;
Liaise with the INTERSOS community services teams (especially with Protection Monitors) to ensure needs/gaps/concerns with regards to WASH are reported for in depth needs assessments by the WASH teams;
Participate to sectorial coordination meetings at local level when requested by the International WASH Manager;
Participate to workshops and trainings in the field of WASH but not only, in order to broaden the knowledge and share it with colleagues and beneficiaries;
Perform other related duties upon request to support the project team and the project implementation process;
Competencies: (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Professional Competencies:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience of which a minimum of 8 months demonstrable competence and experience in management of WASH integrated/community-based context, for international or local development organisations
- Demonstrable understanding of WASH services delivery in emergency.
- Excellent Computer literacy (Word, Excel)
- Knowledge in GIS and ODK system is an asset
- Excellent Reporting skills
