Hygiene Promoter - 2 Positions

Islamic Relief Lebanon is implementing a WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) program to meet the needs of the refugees and host communities in North Lebanon.  
The Hygiene Promoter will contribute to this program by promoting safe hygiene practices, facilitating community involvement, distributing hygiene materials, and building the capacity of Community Hygiene Promoters. 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Promote, monitor, survey, and assess the target area and group level;

1. Conduct hygiene promotion field sessions, and ensure community engagement.
2. Arrange thematic focus group discussions, awareness, and hygiene promotion sessions.
3. Conduct hygiene promotion awareness sessions within communities, schools, health centers, households level, and distribution points;
4. Conduct field visits to inform, motivate, and animate to beneficiaries to improve their hygiene and living conditions;
5. Identify the most appropriate message while respecting the cultural sensitivity of the target population, and work on it;
6. Design, prepare, and evaluate the necessary material needed for a session/activity;
7. Participate in hygiene campaigns, and promote good hygiene practices in communities to help them acquire safer hygiene behaviors;
8. Regular meetings with the line manager and other team members to communicate new technical topics and provide regular updates;
9. Develop trust, tolerance, and cooperation among community members;
10. Report any incidences related to the protection of IDPs, host communities, and other vulnerable groups to the management, including security concerns;
11. Support in proper documentation of the project in both hard and soft copies
12. Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by the line manager.

 EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION/SKILLS/ESSENTIAL

1. Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, or any other related field.
2. Good in written and spoken Arabic and English.
3. Minimum of 1 year of experience in public health, nursing, outreach activities, or related fields.
4. Minimum of 1 year of experience in International/ local NGOs in Hygiene promotion activities
5. Experience in hygiene promotion activities in Schools is a plus.
6. Thorough knowledge of MS Office and Data collection tools (Kobo, ODK, etc.)                  
7. Commitment to Islamic Relief Core values and mission statement. 
8. Responsible, organized, and teamwork skills.
9. Strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
11. Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to challenging environments.

Job Location: Islamic Relief Lebanon - Beirut office with regular field visit to the North
