Project Officer

Overall Responsibility Project officer is responsible to assist the Child Welfare Coordinator in the project implementation activities and orphans sponsorship program supervision in Bekaa area.   Main Duties and Responsibilities Plan, prepare and supervise the implementation of the project activities including all aspects of the project’s daily management, administration for orphans sponsorship program and logistics Review regularly and update the project’s work plan.  Implement project activities and ensure the good quality and quantity of the project/s outcomes. Supervise the Social Worker and Team Leader to achieve the project work plan and objectives. Conduct weekly and monthly reports on the project implemented activities and control the budget of the project. Regular monitoring of field activities for the successful and smooth implementation of the project. Ensure that the data is accurate with all needed information and documents. Coordinate with the Admin, Finance and Logistics departments to ensure all needed inputs and tools for the project operating. Develop and maintain positive relationships with the partner organization, key government officials, NGOs, INGOs, etc. Provide continued support to the project staff and local implementing partner in order to build their capacity in implementing project’s activities and achieving results.   Conduct weekly/ monthly meetings with the team leader and social worker in collaboration with the project coordinator in order to discuss about progress achievement, future plans and challenges. Ensure a strict adherence to IRL Orphan Sponsorship Policy/Procedure and Child Protection Policy, including respect for confidentiality and act in the best interests of the children. Documenting project activities through both hard and soft copies. Perform any other task as assigned by the project coordinator.   Child Protection Policy: Commit to respect the Islamic Relief Child Protection Policy Commit to ensure the best implementation possible of the Child Protection Policy Commit to respond to any child abuse concerns following the procedures and guidelines on dealing with child’s allegation or suspicion of abuse.   Person Specifications                                                                                                                                    Experience / Education/Skills- Essential               A bachelor degree of Business Management (or any other related field) from an accredited University. Minimum of 2-3 years of relative experience in a similar position, preferred- with NGOs/ INGOs. Experience in working with Children, solid knowledge in child protection field Experience in managing humanitarian projects, full comprehension of project management cycle. Ability To Work independently with minimal supervision. Read, comprehend and interpret written materials of moderate to complex difficulty. Records management systems (both automated and paper files) to ensure accurate maintenance of files and ease of retrieval. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. IT skills                                                                                 Proficiency in MS office and the ability to use software necessary for project management and reporting. General Skills                                                    V. Good technical reporting skills. Strong planning, communications and coordination skills. Ability to work under pressure and within a team. Diplomacy, tact & negotiation skills. Report writing skills.
