Psycho-Social Support (PSS) Facilitator

 Job Summary:

 

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled PSS Facilitator to join our team. The PSS Facilitator will provide psychological and emotional support services to individuals and groups affected by [trauma, crisis, or other conditions relevant to the context, e.g., conflict, displacement, natural disasters]. The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable populations and demonstrate sensitivity to cultural and individual differences.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Facilitate psycho-social support (PSS) sessions for children, youth, and adults, both individually and in groups.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify beneficiaries’ psychological and social support needs.
  • Plan, develop, and implement PSS activities, workshops, and group sessions tailored to the specific needs of target groups.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for beneficiaries to share and express themselves.
  • Work closely with community-based organizations, social workers, and other team members to ensure a holistic approach to PSS services.
  • Provide case management support, including referrals to specialized mental health services when necessary.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and document participant progress and session outcomes.
  • Report regularly on activities, challenges, and recommendations for program improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to all ethical and organizational guidelines, especially regarding confidentiality and child safeguarding policies.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field (Master's degree is an asset).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in psycho-social support, counseling, or a related field, preferably with humanitarian organizations.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and Arabic is required.

 

 

Skills:

 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of PSS best practices, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills.
