Career Guidance Trainer - Bourj Hammoud

Main Responsibilities of the Position

Under the overall supervision and guidance of the community centre administrator in Bourj Hammoud, the career guidance trainer will develop and deliver a 14-hour training program on career guidance for 25 Lebanese and non-Lebanese young women who participated in JRS non-formal training. The career guidance training will extend over four non-consecutive sessions and will help participants formulate a career action plan, as well as provide guidance on how to connect with professional mentors in their sectors of interest. Trainees will be given one week to practice connecting with mentors and private sector entities and to report their findings and challenges. By the end of the training period, participants equipped with a solid career plan will be able to decide whether they would like to pursue work-based learning, mentorship, volunteering, employment, or self-employment. The training program should cover the following topics: 

  •  Building a strategy and career action plan.
  • Searching for a job: how and where to look.
  •  Preparing for interviews, connecting with private sector entities, accessing volunteering and work placement opportunities, and creating a CV.
  • Developing employability skills, e.g., communication skills, professionalism, and ethical behavior.

Expected Deliverables

1-Before the start of the training:

-The training calendar with session titles.

-Samples of training books/material for distribution.

-A Curriculum handout organized by training sessions describing:

Session topic.

List of key contents and talking points.

The pre- and post-training test questionnaires, to verify level, competences, and learning. The tests should be the same and they are delivered before the start date of the training and after the last session.

2-During the Training:

-Maintain a record of the participants' progress and attendance.

-Accompany participants in the development of their career plans.

3-After the end of the training:

-Provide a report on the participants’ feedback, lessons learnt and remarks.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

  • 4-5 years of demonstrated experience providing career guidance and employability skills training.
  • Excellent knowledge of the market.
  • Previous experience in training and coaching is highly preferred .
  • Strong communication, and listening skills.
  • Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
