Clinical Psychologist

General Purpose of the Position: The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for diagnosing/evaluating of the mental and emotional disorders of individuals. S/he will be following up the cases referred by the home visit team and the social worker. Furthermore she/he initiates and supervises referrals of cases to outside experts.

Main Responsibilities of the Position

• Assess the individual needs, abilities or behaviour using different methods such as interviews and direct observation of behaviour;
• Work within JRS team: Monitor appropriate treatment programmes such as therapy, counselling or advice, in collaboration with other professionals;
• Offer therapy and treatments related to mental health problems such as:
   anxiety, depression, addiction, social and interpersonal problems and challenging behaviour;
• Intervention: treatments may be for individuals, families and groups

Qualifications & Skills

• Compassion and strong commitment for refugees and other displaced people;
• Clinical Psychologist Degree with permission to practice the profession from the ministry of public health.
• Minimum of 2 professional years of experience in the field.
• Background in GBV/Protection and communities of Refugees or Displaced people is an asset
• Reliable, honest, hardworking and a self-motivated person;
• Proven experience in managing people/teams in low resource environments;
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within different cultural environments;
• Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills;
• Very good written and spoken English and Arabic;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Applications;
• Ability to work flexibly within a team structure ;
• Ability to write and edit reports in English and Arabic within deadlines;
• Ability to perform under pressure, to cope with stressful workloads, and to work with limited resources.

There is a possibility that the contract will be extended beyond that.
