Kindergarten Teacher

The Kindergarten teacher will work on building a firm foundation for refugee students to help them get integrated into Lebanese schools through an Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) that focuses on the students learning fundamentals in 3 languages.  Key Responsibilities Teach basic academic skills, including alphabet, letter recognition, numbers, and others in Arabic, English and French (reading and writing). Lead students through creative play and hands-on activities. Plan lessons according to ALP curriculum and assess students, tailoring their lessons according to the abilities of the children in the classroom. Coordinate with other kindergarten teachers and school principal. Conduct regular teachers’ and parents’ meetings. Applying JRS policies during class time. Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes Good communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and team working skills Good cultural awareness and sensitivity Highly approachable, trustworthy and confidential Experience in planning class programs Experience in participatory programs Must be capable of teaching 3 languages; Arabic, English, and French. Experience in working with refugees is a plus Work Schedule Monday through Friday from 1:30 PM till 6:30 PM
