General Purpose of the position:
The Psychologist is responsible for the training of JRS Lebanon Beqaa staff in matters of Psychological First Aid, recognition of symptoms and support for persons in distress. Furthermore she/he initiates and supervises referrals of cases to outside experts. Less complicated cases will be attended by her/him at the home of the refugee or in JRS’ field offices. The Psychologist debriefs the Social Workers regularly.
Training of JRS Staff
Conducting of sessions on Psychological First Aid and recognition of symptoms indicating psychological and/or psychiatric condition.
Conducting sessions on how to support persons in distress and trauma.
Conducting sessions on self-care and stress handling.
Conducting bimonthly Social Workers meeting and ongoing support.
Development of PSS Programs addressing the changing needs of JRS Projects.
Staff Care
Regular debriefing and coaching of Social Workers (in all JRS Lebanon Beqaa Projects) in their places of work.
Counselling of staff.
Collaboration with External Experts
Planning and facilitating common workshops with External Experts for JRS staff.
Counselling of Beneficiaries
Counselling of individual cases in JRS Projects in Bar Elias and Baalbeck.
Identification and assessment of individual cases for referral.
Follow-up on any referred case.
Administration
Keeping proper patient files
Writing condensed reports of the activities done and the cases treated.
Submitting monthly, half-year and annual reports.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 2 professional years of experience in the field
Proven managerial experience
Background in GBV/Protection and communities of Refugees or Displaced people is an asset
Knowledge of English and Arabic both written and spoken is required
Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Ability to write and edit reports under deadlines
Ability to work in multicultural environment
Ability to perform under pressure
Ability to work independently and respecting deadlines
Motivated, hard working, and very reliable
Previous work experience in Lebanon or the region is preferred
