School And Outreach Social Worker

General Purpose of the position The Social Services Officer is the Focal Point for Protection in Jbeil School and in all Outreach activities. She takes care of the psycho-social support for vulnerable groups.  She reports to and coordinates with the Project Director. Main Responsibilities of the Position PROTECTION FOCAL POINT The Protection Officer is the focal point for protection, responsible for the development and implementation of protection policies with special attention to schoolchildren. Take special care of vulnerable children, adolescents, and adults among the people we serve. Provide basic counselling to less complex cases. Facilitate access and referral for cases of trauma and high-risk to competent professionals. Support the Team in tasks related to all Protection Issues arising in the School and in Outreach. PSYCHO-SOCIAL SUPPORT Accompany and collaborate with the Home Visits Team Organize a needs assessment of the people we serve. Elaborate an action plan, together with the Project Director, resulting from this needs assessment. Organize outreach for vulnerable and high-risk refugee, migrant and undocumented families. Organize support groups to assist refugees in understanding, dealing with and coping with their situations, in collaboration with other staff members. 3. Cultivate and facilitate contact with local organizations related to the position, in close collaboration with the Project Director. Analyse the needs of refugees and suggest new initiatives to the Project Director 4.         Ensure prompt execution of other tasks which are within the ambit of the position which may be requested by the Project  Diretor as needs occur.
