Learning garden and Agro-ecology farm supervision and maintenance

Tasks and qualitifcations:

(1) Agro-ecology farm supervision and maintenance

WORK TASKS

Almost daily visits to space for watering & maintenance of a perma-garden.

Consistent communication & coordination with project coordinator and garden managers. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be available for daily visits to water & maintain garden.

Must have experience in farming/gardening.

Preferred knowledge of or interest in organic farming/gardening and/or agroecology. 

(2) Learning garden supervision and environmental workshops delivery

WORK TASKS

Conduct weekly workshops with children/adolescents ages 6-14.

Attend team (and other) meetings as necessary.

Adapt content on the spot as necessary. 

Conduct educational activities for children/adolescents from diverse backgrounds.

Record feedback and other notation needed for reporting.

Coordinate with educational content developers, project coordinator, and trainer as necessary. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have English and Arabic language skills (speaking, reading, writing).

Demonstrated experience working with children. 

Demonstrated educational experience. 

Willing to learn and apply alternative education methodologies (i.e. ecopedagogy, interactive learning, project-based learning, learner-centered education, critical pedagogy) 

Possesses the skills needed for reporting such as writing and communication skills.

Timely and organized. 

Must have experience working with vulnerable children/adolescents

Preferred interest in environmental sustainability.

Experience or interest in working outdoors. 

Knowledge of educational curriculum design is a plus

Location:

The work is in Zgharta Al Akbe (between Zgharta, Mejdlaya and Kobbe). The person must be based in Zgharta or TRipoli.

Contract:

Jibal offers a contract between 9 and 13 months, and a salary range between 300 and 500 USD/month, depending on the duration of the contract and on the number of days per week.

Other elements:

The collaborator will have access to a range of training sessions offered by Jibal, Eedama and Ghossoun. 

He/she will report to Ounsi Daif.

One trip to Beirut and one trip to our partner farm in Saadnayel every two weeks.

The position can be split in two if needed.
