Site Controller

The role of Jouzour Loubnan’s Site Controller is to:

• Manage field operations (reforestation site selection, species for plantation, implementation, supervision).
• Supervise field technicians’ teams.
• Monitor plantation projects.
• Supervise the implementation of all field activities.
• Manage seedling orders with national nurseries.
• Submit and recommend any potential site for plantation through a detailed proposal.
• Direct and manage the implementation of the projects in the related district.
• Supervise the day-to-day tasks and procedures related to the implementation of the projects.
• Ensure effective project reporting and maintain constant communication with the committee.
• Suggest development plans and future steps to better enhance project delivery.
• Coordinate daily with the team.
• Deliver workers sheets for payment preparations. 

COMPETENCIES:

• Good knowledge in Contracting practices, Irrigation techniques, Administration & Management, Statistics, Mapping is a plus.
• Able to drive a manual transmission car.

Communication skills:

• Good written and oral with an emphasis on a keen ability to produce clear reports, synthesis, and other documents to be shared.
• Knows to communicate with workers, foreman, contractors, and locals in rural areas.

Attitude & key behavioral skills:

• Highly flexible mindset, strong character when needed, not easily influenceable, knows to stay objective and neutral, knows to listen.
• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.

Technical skills:

• Knows how to use a GPS, to read a map, to use Google Earth and GIS is a plus.
• Knows how to use a computer including MS Office.

Physical condition:

• Must be in an excellent physical condition capable of hiking and working in a challenging environment.
• Good sense of orientation.

Other skills:

• Independent, strong time management and organizational skills, acute negotiation skills, sharp observer, detailed oriented, and a quick learner.
• Passion for environmental conservation and sustainable development.
• Good knowledge of reforestation and environmental matters in Lebanon and in the region.
