Consultant: Legal Trainer

Under the project “Together For Access to Justice”, JWF is seeking a qualified trainer to design and deliver a comprehensive one-day training session focused on gender-based violence (GBV), domestic violence, and the protective legal framework in Lebanon. The consultant will be responsible for preparing the training content and facilitating the session, with an emphasis on relevant Lebanese laws, including practical applications and best practices for addressing GBV and supporting survivors within the local context.

This project is part of the ‘Expertise France - Women Empowerment Hub in Lebanon (WE HUB),’ financed by the Neighborhood, Development, and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI-Global Europe) under the European Commission

2- Scope of work and deliverables

The Legal Trainer will be responsible for:

    • Develop an engaging, context-specific training agenda and materials (PowerPoint, pre posttests).
    • Cover core concepts of GBV and domestic violence within the Lebanese context.
    • Explain key national protective laws (e.g. Law 293/2014 and related amendments).
    • Include practical tools and case studies for participants.
    • Facilitate a one-day interactive training session
    • Provide a brief final report including the training evaluation and recommendations.

      3- Skills and Experience required
    • A university degree in law, or a related field.
    • Training Expertise: Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in designing and delivering training programs, particularly in areas related to legal awareness, hu man rights, gender equality, women's empowerment, or community development.
    • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups of participants effectively.
    • In-depth knowledge of human rights, women's rights, gender-based violence, legal frameworks in Lebanon, and social cohesion principles
    • Ability to design and deliver comprehensive training programs on gender-based violence (GBV) and domestic violence within Lebanon’s context.
    • Experience with NGOs/Humanitarian Sector: Previous experience working with non-governmental organizations or in the humanitarian sector in Lebanon is highly desirable.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills (in Arabic and English).
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds and sensitivities.

  • Relevant Experience and Samples of Previous Work: Include brief descriptions of similar training programs you have delivered, along with at least two professional references.
