JWF is looking for an expert in GBV for the development of the organization’s helpline protocol to equip the team with the necessary resources and knowledge to deal with cases received ensuring the safety and privacy of beneficiaries.
The enhancement of the existing Protection Helpline component aims to upgrade an existing and operational helpline dedicated as a lifeline for the most vulnerable groups, particularly women facing violence. The consultant will be procured to closely work with JWF on the development of the organization’s helpline protocol to equip the team with the necessary resources and knowledge to deal with cases received ensuring the safety and privacy of beneficiaries, including the assessment of the current helpline service, participation in and facilitation of discussions during the roundtable discussions, establishment of the helpline protocol, and training of JWF team members in charge of the helpline.
Tasks and Deliverables
The Enhancement of the existing Protection Helpline by:
- Mapping existing services and establishing a resource database: create a comprehensive and well-organized database that contains accurate and up-to-date information about existing services related to violence and protection.
- Developing a network of organizations during a roundtable: creating a network of collaborating organizations for effective response and support for survivors of violence. It involves convening a roundtable, including relevant stakeholders who offer services to the most vulnerable groups, particularly women victims of violence. The consultant will also moderate the roundtable discussions and prepare a report including a matrix for referral services
- Rreviewing and upgrading the available JFW documents, tools and system used for the Helpline. Accordingly, a detailed Protection Helpline protocol will be developed including the offered support services and referrals process.
- The consultant will assess and upgrade JWF’s safeguarding policies and practices toward programs participants
- The consultant will be training team members, volunteers, and ambassadors on the developed Protection Helpline protocol and the upgraded safeguarding policies. It includes different sessions on relevant topics such as: training team members on operating the helpline, while training volunteers and ambassadors on sensitizing and referring community members to the helpline.
- Equipping helpline operations with essential infrastructure tools: establishing the essential infrastructure required to operate the helpline effectively, ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary tools to provide the support
- Enhancing outreach and communication with communities: enhancing the helpline’s outreach efforts by creating impactful and engaging communication materials, communication materials will be prepared based on infographics that succinctly convey key information about the helpline's services, available support, and contact details
The Consultant will be reporting directly to the director of the organisation.
TimeLine:
- Current Helpline service assessment including desk review, operational, and technology evaluation: 4 days
- Participation in the round table discussion:3 days
- Elaboration of the helpline protocol: 6 days
- Training days: 1 day of training for the ambassadors and volunteers; and 1 day for JWF team members.
Skills and Experience Required
- Bachelor degree in social science or humanities (e.g. gender studies, development, political science, human rights) or other related fields
- Over 4 years of experience in developing studies related to GBV and WPS
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work simultaneously on multiple tasks, under tight deadlines, provide real-time data points and analysis with accuracy under pressure
- Strong attention to detail, as well as organizational and communication skills
- Excellent command in written and verbal English and Arabic is required
- High level of professionalism
