Social Worker

Justice without Frontiers (JWF) is a secular, nonpolitical, nonprofit, nongovernmental, juristic civil organization, incorporated in November 2005 and headquartered in Beirut. Its role is to develop and promote democratic reform and rule of law, and undertake legal and social projects that support human rights. Justice without Frontiers attracts volunteers, professionals, and passionate individuals who believe in human right principles and are dedicated to work towards prosecuting violators and supporting victims who have no access to justice, at the national, regional, or international levels. Women’s Access to Justice- Phase 2: is a three years program implemented in Lebanon by Justice Without Frontiers in partnership with Oxfam GB. The program aims to contribute to equitable access to formal and informal justice for poor and vulnerable women in Lebanon. General objective of the job: To provide la social support for women and girls victims of violence and whom are in conflict with the law. Key responsabilities: • Offer counseling to women and girls victims of violence and whom are in conflict with the law • Assist in operating the helpline and in following up on urgent calls outside working hours when needed • Fill-in intake questionnaires for the beneficiaries, keep case records, and document all calls received from victims of GBV and all actions taken as a follow up • Coordinate with, refer and/or accompany the beneficiaries to medical and forensic doctors, lawyers, psychiatrists, psychotherapists and other frontline personnel when needed • Maintain and develop cooperation relationships with relevant service providers (national and international), community centres and organizations, governmental institutions and authorities, companies and local businesses etc., in order to complement the services offered by JWF, offer a comprehensive follow- up, and enhance work opportunities for the beneficiaries when needed • Organize and follow up group activities for the beneficiaries such as group sessions, art therapy--- • Coordinate and organize awareness raising sessions when requested • Write progress reports on regular basis or when needed • Cooperate and coordinate with JWF’s project officer, field officer and oxfam Skills and competence: • University degree in social work • At least 2 years of experience with NGOs in community-based work, preferably in relation to gender-based violence or human trafficking. • Fluency in French, English and Arabic • Demonstrated ability to work within a team, and under pressure • Knowledge of and commitment to gender equality and gender-based violence • Respectful of different cultures and ethnicities; • Knowledge and skills in computer usage including power point and social media • Ability to work under stress • Sufficient knowledge and intervention on SGBV and protection issues • Ensure appropriate monitoring, review and follow up of the services provided to cases. • Maintain a positive working relationship within the team, and promote team-building efforts. • Support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools and report on problems in the implementation of the program. • Experience in emergency work
