Background information: About KAFA: KAFA (enough) Violence & Exploitation is a feminist, secular, Lebanese, non-profit, non-governmental civil society organization seeking to create a society that is free of social, economic and legal patriarchal structures that  discriminate against women. KAFA has been aiming to eliminate all forms of exploitation and violence against women since its establishment in 2005.  It seeks to realize substantive gender equality through the adoption of a combination of different approaches, such as: Advocacy for law reform and introduction of new laws and policies; influencing public opinion, practices and mentality; conducting research and training; and empowering women and children victims of violence, and providing them with social, legal, and psychological support. Our focus areas are: Family violence; Exploitation and trafficking in women, especially in migrant domestic workers and women in prostitution; Child protection, particularly from sexual and gender-based violence. About the project: Since 2013, KAFA has partnered with UNICEF in a project titled “Protecting children, adolescents and women from Gender Based Violence” aiming at enhancing the protection of vulnerable children and adolescents affected by the Syrian crisis from GBV (early marriage, sexual abuse...), through promoting their right to information by improving their access to adequate services and their awareness on how to protect themselves from GBV. The project is ongoing for the third consecutive year. In 2017, KAFA will continue its partnership with UNICEF in the same project through establishing a community based approach within the SDCs in Borj el Barajneh and Hay el Selloum. Thus, the community mobilizer will be needed to provide awareness sessions with children, adolescents and caregivers related to GBV and SGBV based on the Citadel of Protection toolkit developed by KAFA and UNICEF and to establish committees and provide technical assistance. Key Responsibilities: Apply first assessment form in each location; Maintain and update database related to the first assessment; Stick with the annual plan set with program coordinator; Provide schedule of activities on weekly/ monthly basis;  Conduct psychosocial support activities; Coordinate with services providers in each location; Provide trainings to committees established in each location; Meet committees on weekly basis; Raise logistics and technical challenges; Identify risks through committees and set action plan with them; Identify gaps regarding performance knowledge, attitude off community members and provide necessary support;  Maintain and update database on activities (sensitization); Receive cases from committees and refer them;  Maintain good relations with local implementing actors, local authorities and other international and local stakeholders; Deliver regular reports (evaluation, pre post-test) on the given sessions; Develop and maintain an archive system; Participate in preparation and follow up meetings with the team; Attend relevant workshops and trainings as instructed.    Key Characteristics: Compulsory experience in facilitating GBV awareness sessions with children and caregivers, Understanding/experience in emergency and/or humanitarian action experience, Openness to working with Palestinian, Lebanese and Syrian communities, Computer and communication skills.  Professional Standards: While working on this project, the consultant is required to sign KAFA’s Child Protection Policy.
