Emotional Support Groups Consultant

Scope of work:

As part of the psychosocial support activities provided to adolescents and women, and due to the dramatic effects of the current situation in Lebanon on mental health, emotional support sessions will be conducted aiming at empowering them by strengthening their ability to express themselves, have better communication skills and provide healthy ways to cope with stress. Thus, a consultant will be recruited to conduct emotional support sessions in Beirut and Bekaa areas.

The Emotional Support Groups Consultant’s responsibility is to provide emotional support sessions to groups of adolescents and women. The emotional support group consultant will be working closely with the Child Protection Coordinators as well as with the field staff.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)

• Provide emotional support sessions to adolescents, women, and men in Bekaa and Beirut/Mount Lebanon (BML) based on KAFA's emotional support curriculum;
• Maintain and update database related to conducted activities and referral pathways in each location;
• Stick with the annual plan set with the project coordinator;
• Provide a schedule of activities on a weekly/ monthly basis;
• Coordinate with KAFA field officer, team leader, and center supervisor in Bekaa and BML;
• Raise logistics and technical challenges;
• Fill reports upon completion of each cycle of groups and upon request according to the UNICEF reporting system;
• Identify gaps regarding practices, knowledge, and attitudes of community members and provide necessary support; 
• Refer cases received while conducting activities to the Field Officer and Center Supervisor;
• Maintain good relations with local implementing actors, local authorities, and other international and local stakeholders;
• Coordinate with M&E consultants and provide them with needed information and database and documents related to monitoring activities.
