About KAFA KAFA (enough) Violence & Exploitation is a feminist, secular, Lebanese, non-profit, non-governmental civil society organization seeking to create a society that is free of social, economic and legal patriarchal structures that discriminate against women. KAFA has been aiming to eliminate all forms of gender-based violence and exploitation since its establishment in 2005. It seeks to realize substantive gender equality through the adoption of a combination of different approaches, such as: Advocacy for law reform and introduction of new laws and policies; influencing public opinion, practices and mentality; conducting research and training; and empowering women and children victims of violence, and providing them with social, legal, and psychological support. BACKGROUND: Building on previous GBV related interventions targeting Syrian refugees as well as Lebanese women and girls, KAFA continues its partnership with UNFPA through enhancing institutions and scaling up/diversifying GBV related interventions in order to build resilience, mitigate risk, and meet the needs of survivors and women/girls at risk. This project targets non GBV specialized actors and women organizations in four areas in Lebanon: North (Bebnin&Berkayel), Bekaa (Majdel Anjar/souwairi, Mount Lebanon (Bourj Hammoud), and Zahrani. JOB PURPOSE: The field officer is responsible for working with the program manager to ensure the engagement of non GBV actors in the project, coordinating with local stakeholders, provide support to potential organizations who will take part of the project. The field officer also organizes meetings and activities with stakeholders, and ensures a good implementation of all project activities. The field officer will travel to the above mentioned areasand work closely with local actors, such as the municipalities, local organizations, community centers and international actors such as international organizations and UN agencies and working groups. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:          Closely coordinate and follow-up with the partners and work groups engaged in the project Maintain regular contact with stakeholders, community focal points Organize regular planning and meetings with targeted organizations and related actors Support the targeted organizations in developing strategies and action plans to mainstream GBV within their work Remain updated on the available services and the current programs in the targeted areas in order to facilitate referrals, prevent overlap, and ensure the project activities meet the needs of the community Identify and assess organizations/initiatives/groups to participate/be engaged in the project activities Conduct regular field visits to project targeted areas Participate in coordination, and information sharing activities with governmental institutions such as municipalities, national NGOs, international organizations, donors and government Follow-up frequently on project developments and progress to ensure compliance and proper implementation of activities Provide weekly reports, feedback, and share information with the project manager. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: A bachelor degree of Social Work (or any other related field) Minimum of 2-3 years of relative experience in a similar -position, preferred- with NGOs/ INGOs. Experience in working with municipalities, local communities and actors Solid knowledge of GBV  prevention and response Experience working with refugees, women, and other groups Strong communication skills Solid knowledge and commitment to human rights standards Must be computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
