Digital literacy Officer

General Goal: The Digital Literacy Officer supports Kayany School’s mission by strengthening the digital competencies of students and staff. integrating technology into classroom instruction, providing continuous training, ensuring safe online practices, and maintaining the functionality of ICT resources.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide training and on-the-job coaching to teachers on educational technology tools.
  • Facilitate sessions on safe internet practices, cybersecurity awareness, and responsible digital behavior.
  • Support teachers in integrating digital tools into lesson plans and classroom activities.
  • Assist in implementing digital learning platforms ( Akelius, Learning Passport,…)
  • Follow up on troubleshooting of computers and other devices.
  • Coordinate with teachers on implementing digital learning platform.
  • Ensure devices are used safely, correctly, and according to school policies.
  • Track student progress in digital literacy and maintain attendance and performance records.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports and improvement recommendations to management.
  • Support digital assessments, surveys, and data collection related to digital learning.
  • Ensure safe digital practices aligned with the school’s Child Protection Policy.
  • Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to the designated focal point.
  • Encourage ethical, respectful, and responsible use of technology.

 

Qualifications, Skills, and Personal Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, ICT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in digital literacy, ICT training, or teaching.
  • Experience in working in educational or NGO settings is an asset.
  • Strong computer and digital literacy skills (MS Office, internet use, Google tools, educational apps).
  • Basic troubleshooting and classroom ICT management.
  • Excellent communication, training, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills.
  • Ability to engage with diverse learners and manage classroom dynamics.
  • Commitment to Child Safeguarding and humanitarian principles.
  • Highly competent in using UNICEF’s Akelius and Learning Passport digital platform.
