General Goal: Digital literacy teacher is responsible for teaching students how to use digital tools, understand online safety, and effectively navigate the digital world.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging lessons that cover key topics such as: Basic computer skills (hardware, software, operating systems), Internet navigation and research techniques, Online communication tools (email, video conferencing), and Digital content creation (document creation, presentations, spreadsheets, etc.)
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, demonstrations, group work, and interactive activities.
- Integrate various digital tools (software, apps, websites, and platforms) to support and enhance learning experiences.
- Stay updated with emerging digital technologies and trends to incorporate new tools into the curriculum.
- Assess student progress through quizzes, assignments, projects, and other digital assessments.
- Provide feedback on students' digital literacy skills, offering personalized guidance where necessary.
- Provide individual or small-group instruction to students who need additional support in digital skills.
- Motivate students to explore digital tools and resources for personal and academic growth.
- Foster a positive and productive classroom environment where students can explore digital tools safely and confidently.
- Implement strategies for managing classroom behavior, including the use of digital devices and internet safety.
Qualifications, Skills, and Personal Attributes
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Previous teaching experience or experience in technology training.
- Strong understanding of digital tools, online safety, and digital ethics.
- Proficiency in using a variety of educational technologies, multimedia tools, and software applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse student groups.
- Ability to adapt lessons to the needs of students with varying levels of digital proficiency.
